[VANITY] Their Heads Are Swiveling and Will Explode Soon
The Belly of the Beast | Today | piperpilot

Posted on 04/08/2011 12:52:21 PM PDT by piperpilot

The liberals in my DC-based office are absolutely apoplectic today. It wasn't enough that they had the judicial election in Wisconsin "stolen" from them. No. No. No. Now those "evil" Republicans are shutting down their beloved federal government over [gasp] a social issue! They literally are talking about how they have developed ulcers as a result of the situation. Then they bemoan how, again, those "EVIL" Republicans are taking needed healthcare away from women. The horror of it all!!!! All week they have been decrying Paul Ryan's proposed budget cuts, but today their disquiet can no longer be contained. It's full on hysteria here in DC. Meanwhile, I just sit in my office and drink it all in, savoring the flavor. Government shut down? Bring it on. Makes my commute easier.

I really enjoyed your post. Thanks for giving us an eye into the mindset there now.
I recall going to work the day after Kerry lost to Bush. I was distracted by a heavy work load and really didn’t notice our wing of the building (300 people) was pin drop quiet - all I knew is I was finally able to get alot done. Finally one of the very few other Republicans in the building pointed out the relationship to the funereal atmosphere of our colleagues to the election results. Ahhhhh....*stretches*....yes that’s more like it!

Don't these women have doctors?

The Dems TRIED to steal the election in Wisco. Clerical Error on part of an election clerk did not tabulate nearly 8000 votes for an entire city—Brookfield. She found 8,000 votes for the GOP candidate and 3000 for the Dem. She did not steal...Meanwhile, the dems were trying to get names of folks who were not voting to steal their registrations in public housing areas of Milwaukee and Madison, WI. Amazing.

It is a beautiful day to be a conservative.

Developing ulcers? Cool. Order a bunch of take-out Mexican food and have it delivered to work. Tell them to make it extra spicy. These people generally cannot turn down a free lunch. Give them lots of coffee to wash it all down.

No but I do have a bust of Ronald Reagan on my bookshelf. Also, Ronnie is wearing a “W” hat.

I don’t take any joy in shutdown aspect of the issue. Most people that work for the federal government are hard working loyal citizens. And among the mush and waste, there are useful things down by the government. But a stand has to be made, especially against the national sin of abortion and its advocate Planned Parenthood.

Here is a little tidbit that very few of the news media has pointed out to us.

Most of the headlines and information from the news media says that the stalling point in the current budget crisis is the Republican’s insistance on inclusion of a rider to the bill to continue to fund the government for Abortion Rights! That is not exactly wholly the truth. The rider would restore the District of Columbia to a position in which it had been for many, many years under the law. That law was only recently changed by the Democrats during the last Congress 4 years ago.

The law prevents the District of Columbia from using government funds for abortions within the District of Columbia and only the District of Columbia. Most of the Democratic leaders who have served in past Congress’s have voted a number of times, in the past, in favor of exactly this same rider. Steny Hoyer for example voted for it 18 times. Of course now he refuses to admit that fact, and instead rants about this rider being “anti-abortion funding”!

All of this is just another way in which the Democrats, and yes the Republicans, are playing around with government operating funding for their own political purposes. And, the left-wing liberal press is fanning the flames as much as they can on behalf of the Democrats by not fully explaining all of this to the American public.!

We also need to remember that this is the same Democratic Leadership, in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, that failed to pass a budget bill - as they should have done - during the last Congress when they were in the majority in both houses! So the fact that the House and the Senate are evenhaving to deal with all of this lays at the feet of that Democratic controlled Congress - not the Republicans now in the majority in the House. Of course this is another point which you will hear that same Democratic Leadership evade, confuse, and not answer!

All of us need to remember this the next time we vote!

The liberals in my DC-based office are absolutely apoplectic today.

DC is a world of its own. I lived there for 5 years in the late 80's as a young man. I returned for a week only last year, after spending 20 years elsewhere on the globe seeing how the real world works. Watching the people on the Metro at rush-hour, watching the masses of people whose whole world is centered on serving the Gov't, or trying to get something from some corner of the Gov't bureaucracy - I realized it was the most concentrated form of "groupthink" I have ever seen.
