Why did Newsweek remove Barack Obama photos?
Why would someone photoshop a young Barack Obama into a photo of his grandparents sitting on a bench in Central Park? A photo that appeared in New Yorker editor David Remnicks Obama bio, The Bridge.

This blogger is getting burned by this lame YouTube video, just like
Cashill did yesterday. See the ridicule at
Salon . The video has it that Obama is Photoshopped in, and proves it with a terrible Photoshop of the photo without Obama, with Obama's knee retained.
The Obama Grandparents photo is Photoshopped , but it is the Grandparents that are added.
The blogger should delete the post before anyone else notices.

And there is a bit of the concrete bench leg just to the left of grannie’s leg. They didn’t wipe out all of it.

My goodness grandpa has a very long arm considering where his elbow is and his hand appears. Very strange.

The one without Obama has been photoshopped.

I work in photoshop all day long and have been using it since version 1. I have looked over the above photo and think it is real (maybe slightly retouched.)
When I look for editing in a photo I do two things:
1. I create and exposure layer in PS and run the Gamma up and down looking for a mismatch in the exposure that would only be apparent at high or low gamma settings. In this photo, Obama's exposure is consistent with his grandparents across the spectrum (except for reddening in the dark areas at gamma 8 which is normal). There are a number of thing I see which can't be faked. At a high gamma setting you can see a shadow of the grandfather's hand on Obama's shoulder. The shadow yellows as it fades. You can't fake that.
2. I run the photo through an emboss filter to look for mismatches in the film grain and jpeg artifacts. Again, this photo shows no mismatch.
So I say this is a wild goose.

Isn’t that what handlers do for a long term groom of a subject, wonder if Ted Kennedy and Soros was in on the grooming?

Your wrong. As circlecity pointed out Gramps shoulder, upper arm, and hand are not in the correct position. That is obviously a doctored photo.

Gramps hand looks awful funny if someone can zoom in on it.

Barry's grandparents never forgot the time they got to meet a young Elvis Presley.

So why would he have a wedding ring on for a girlfriend? Maybe it was from Larry.

Grandpa's left hand is not real! Look at his shoulder how it's down, it would be impossible to have his hand where it is unless he's plastic man.
Try to have your shoulder down like that and see how far your arm can reach?

Good comments.
Is your file the same file from the top of the post or from elsewhere on the net? I think I agree with you although based on your larger file. Though I am still somewhat skeptical about the lack of overexposure on the top of Obama’s head.
So if the top pic is a fake it is a very, very good one, no doubt we can agree that the second photo is a very, very bad fake.

Exactly. You can actually see the sloppy shop job where there’s a little of the concrete bench support leg attached to granny’s leg in the photo with Obama not in it.
To: BenLurkin
Look at Granny in the second picture. Notice how much she has “moved” to her left closer to the reverse “L” shaped brick joint. Grandpa said “Scoot your ass over and let this boy sit down.”

But, in my humble opinion, Obama was added. It is pretty well done but the real giveaway is the light on Obamas head. Both of the Dunhams are washed out on the top of their heads and the top of their shoulders. Obamas image shows none of that. Not washed out on top at all. And even though he has dark hair and relatively dark skin, that kind of light would still show up.*********************************
You're right.
