LOL! I love this guy! I actually learn so much about critters and the fact that I would not do well living in Louisiana. Is anyone else really, really itchy right now?!!!
Funny, somewhat relates story. I went to a boys church camp when I was about 8 or 9 in this really wooded, remote place. We all stayed in barracks together during the nights and sort of explored the woods during the days. The bathing facilities consisted of individual stalls, but that was too close to showering together with a bunch of boys for my taste. That being the case, I used my 8-9 year old brain and decided I wasn’t going to shower the entire week. After all, we did go swimming every day so that was pretty much the same thing as bathing to me. Anyways, I get home and that night I start to complain a little about my scalp being numb. My mom blamed this at first on the fact I wore a baseball cap the entire week. All it took was a little more complaining to discover a deer tick going to town on my head. I have never lived that one down.
Citrus Red Mites are pretty common in Alabama. Were any of the trees that fell down citrus trees?
Spider mites were mentioned as a possibility, but seeing the picture and also being from New York, those don’t look like the spider mites I know.
Noseeums!
Couldn't see them for sure, kind of like the insidious bureaucrats that have sapped this country and now pose a clear threat with the load that the rest of us have to pay for.
Noseeums
That link is good but the prices are atrocious ,, I can get a 25 lb. box of pure white DE powder at the pool supply store for just $5 more than they want for a 1 lb. box... and if you buy it locally and don’t pay shipping it’s cheaper to buy the 25# box...
link below is just an example , my local store has it $2 cheaper (and they currently have a 15% off coupon in the mailer)..

Bug Fiction:
“Mmm! Damn, Jimmy, this is some real gourmet s**t!”
“Knock it off, Julie. Did you see a sign in front of my house that said ‘Dead Chigger Storage’?”
Not that I am aware of. The ones I saw were mostly pine trees or oak branches.
I could never live in a place like that!
Hmmm... I’m still thinking red citrus mites because they peak in the spring in Alabama.

Erratum: “red citrus mites” should be: “citrus red mites.”
I don’t think there are many citrus trees around here, though.
I am sure it has its “rustic beauty” but I am too frightened of alligators, poisonous snakes, wasps that kill you etc... I wonder if it is a place that you sort of have to grow up in to be used to? I would love to visit but I think I wouldn’t take a step anywhere that has brush, trees...
Maybe they’re young box elder bugs???? The adults are black with a little red edge on the wings, the young are red.
LMAO!!!!
LOL!!!!
Are deer ticks difficult to remove? Where they on the clothing or skin as well?
I used it for fleas one year and it worked great.
I had a patient come into the ER one night about a mole that was on his back and growing. I took a look and told him that was the most odd mole I had ever seen. I told him it had legs on it. I then pulled it off and showed him his tick. He was very embarressed. Said he could not see it and was scared it was Cancer. LOL.......
Very insensitive of you to casually use such degrading epitaphs.
They are Chiggro-Americans and have the same rights as you, sometimes even more.
Its re-education for you buddy
