red bugs crawling all around on my sidewalk and yard.
Sounds like you have an infestation of union members.

During the 60’s we Southerners were encouraged to start calling “chigroes”.

Have you taken a look at spider mites? We have them terribly around our garden. You generally notice them when they crawl on our landscaping stone which is a tan color. I hate going near them when they are in abundance.

What part of the country are you in? Auburn, AL. We had a pretty good thunder storm last night that knocked down a few trees if that makes a difference.

I remember those things from eons ago. Have no idea what they are though....so I’m no help at all. I’m from Long Island and haven’t seen them in eons.
Have no idea what they are but I remember them being rampant so many years ago.

They sound like mites to me as well. You could both use a healthy number of Praying Mantis. Sometimes you can buy them through an organic gardening store. They’ll clean uip the problem, and are cool to watch.

Could be just-born box elder bugs. Malathion will kill them (as well as a mix of dishwasher detergent and 1% gasoline...but that is, in essence malathion).

Could you take a photo of them, load it onto a website, and post the link here? Maybe if we can get a look at what you’re referring to, someone might ID them.

Boy, I’m glad in the dry desert West, were the bugs are few. Spent some time in the piney woods of East Texas, the trees and bushes are alive with bugs and all kinds of strange critters.
