An American study of the prevalence of multiple partner fertility has found that 28 percent of all U.S. women with two or more children have children by more than one man.
While previous studies have examined how common multiple partner fertility is among younger women, or among women who live in urban areas, the research by Dorius is the first to assess prevalence among a national sample of U.S. women who have completed their child-bearing years.
...
She found that having children by different fathers was more common among minority women, with 59 percent of African American mothers, 35 percent of Hispanic mothers and 22 percent of white mothers reporting multiple partner fertility.
Women who were not living with a man when they gave birth and those with low income and less education were also more likely to have children by different men.
But she also found that multiple partner fertility is surprisingly common at all levels of income and education and is frequently tied to marriage and divorce rather than just single parenthood.

Not all sin is perversion and not all perversion sin. There is a difference.
Using something God intends for one purpose for another is a perversion. Sex is intended, among other things, to bond a committed couple, using it for mere recreation outside that context is a perversion.
The number of white Christian women who birth a baby from a different father than their husband is an interesting figure.
The sheer number of sites offering paternity testing services gives an indication of the number of husbands who have doubts.
Lots of babies get aborted because a woman does not want to admit an affair.
Have it your way, but that word (perversion) does not mean what you apparently think it means.
“Lots of babies get aborted because a woman does not want to admit an affair.”
One of the primary reasons liberal women will fight to the death for right to choose.
Interesting post, your #5.
I have a cousin that has a rainbow coalition for children; red, yellow, black, and white.
I think she likes Neapolitan ice cream too.
Old news. Just watch Maury for a few episodes, and you’ll get a shocking dose of reality about how some people live.
And procreate at the drop of a hat.
And the really scary thing is that they have exactly the same voting rights as those who see their rights as a sacred responsibility.
Just another reason to go Galt...
This is news?
Bed hopping, multiple partner licentious sex is perversion yes
yes, anything outside of one man and one woman counts as perversion.
Slut alert.
“She found that having children by different fathers was more common among minority women, with 59 percent of African American mothers, 35 percent of Hispanic mothers and 22 percent of white mothers reporting multiple partner fertility. “
Nothing about Asians, but I think most people here can guess where they would be in this listing.
Funny too how SAT scores seem to work exactly opposite to the above numbers. Hmmm...wonder why?
Multiple baby daddies is common. Some women get pregnant with no intention of the father having any role in the children’s lives. (I’ve met a couple.) It’s the fruit of the empowerment of women, and a society where the needs of children come last.
Is being married more than one time perversion?
“Is being married more than one time perversion?”
Not if the the former spouse dies.
I have always held to three acceptable reasons for divorce; addiction, adultery and abuse. My first marriage ended because my former spouse was engaged in two of the three and I put up with it for as long as I could. My new bride of almost one year now suffered through much of the same things as I did.
I don’t apologize for choosing a) not to be a doormat for an abusive whore and b) choosing to be happy in a new relationship.
But, it is still rude to ask a woman with five kids how many fathers. Especially when I have been married to the same guy for 18 years.
Isn’t that one of the reasons cited about Gingrich running for President for voting against?
I didn’t say anything about marriage (I was talking about outside of marriage), and neither did the article I bet.
