Chicken killing students kicked off team

BENBROOK, Texas - Officials with a Texas high school said two players were kicked off the baseball team after allegedly sacrificing live chickens on the ball field.
Administrators at Western Hills High School in Benbrook declined to identify the students but said they were removed from the team for the remainder of the year and disciplined for allegedly sacrificing the chickens, which may have been baby chicks, on the school's field, the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reported Thursday.
Bobby McIntire, the school's baseball coach, said he has not spoken to the students and does not know the motivation behind their actions.
"Baseball is very superstitious, and I assume (movies like Major League and Bull Durham) are where they got it from," McIntire said.
Police are investigating the incident.

WTF
Wonder what kind of ‘motivational speeches’ this coach is giving these kids.
Did any of the rock singers ever get arrested for ‘supposedly’ biting the head off chickens while on stage.
Then again, there is the incident in Toronto?? where Dave Winfield - NY Yankees - hit and killed a bird in flight with a thrown baseball and they were wanting to question him in regards to maybe he did it on purpose.
Think his response was ‘I can make a lot more money knocking flying birds out of the air with a baseball than I can hitting on.’ Or something along those lines.

Nope. I doubt it. Knowing that part of Texas as I do, those boys probably weren't members of the local Baptist church, and were most likely "Katrina" transplants.

I understand that the coach was giving his season instructions to the team and one of the NO NO’s was
DON’T CHOKE YOUR CHICKEN,
along with NOT drinking, smoking or getting to close to your girlfriend.
The two GENIUSES said “That coach aint gonna tell me what to do”, so they each choked a chicken in defiance.
