Trump fails to produce birth certificate

Donald Trump made headlines earlier today when he provided what he said was a copy of his birth certificate -- but a quick check reveals it's actually not an official document.

The paper that Trump released says "Jamaica Hospital" on top and lists the date and time of what he says was his birth to "Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Trump." The piece of paper has a seal at the bottom.

But after several New York City-based readers contacted POLITICO's Maggie Haberman, her call to city officials revealed that an actual birth certificate, which is issued by the Department of Health, would have the agency's seal and also a signature of the city registrar - neither of which the Trump document has. Officials said the city Health Department is the "sole issuing authority" of official birth certificates in New York, and that the document would clearly say so, and "city officials said it's not an official document."

It appears instead to be a hospital "certificate of birth," meaning the piece of paper the hospital gave to his family saying he was born. Such a document typically has the signature of the hospital administrator and the attending physician.

Politico is immediately baying like a blue-tick hound about Mr. Trump's presentation of a physical hospital certificate of birth, but has been for three years silent about the Kenyan Clown's dubious presentation of some sort of image purported to be that of a certification from Hawaii.

That's a very interesting double standard from Politico.

It would seem 1) politico thinks the birth certificate SIGNED by the doctor at the hospital near the time of live birth is NOT the “real birth certificate” and 2) that the computer generated birth certificate Obama had printed in 2007 based on what the state says is founded on archived information in state vaults is the “real birth certificate”...

Actually, the document that Trump showed is orders of magnitude better than the badly forged jpeg that Bozo's campaign trotted out. At least his has the actual signatures of the doctor who delivered him and the hospital administrator.

Since the Public Information Officer of the Hawaii Department of Health made the exact statement that I quoted her as having made and since the US Supreme Court has indeed rejected all 13 appeals challenging Obama’s eligibility, there is no deception and I can back up those points easily.

Trump produced the SAME FORM “BIRTHERS” are requesting Obama produce - the one SIGNED BY THE ATTENDING DOCTOR within minutes of the babay’s birth.

For the record, there are two distinctly different types of "long form" birth certificates. One is what's called a hospital certificate. It's normally ornate, with signatures, time of birth, date of birth, yada yada, and a nice gold seal. Some even have the baby's footprints on the back (mine does).

Then there's the official gov't issued "long form" birth certificate, which is a public record, and which contains everything the hospital cert does, except for the gold seal and baby's footprints. This is the legal document the birthers are after.
