What's in a name? Fat Ho Burgers opens

WACO, Texas, March 25 (UPI) -- A young Texas woman decided there is no such thing as bad publicity when she considered names for her Waco eatery and decided on Fat Ho Burger.

The restaurant opened Tuesday, and Lakisha Evans' plan seems to be working so far, KENS-TV in San Antonio reported. She has a straightforward business plan.

"My burgers, they're cheap. They don't go over 6 bucks because I thought, you know, I grew up in poverty," Evans said.

Evans, 23, grew up in Waco with her mother and five siblings. She is the only one in the family to graduate from college.

The whole family is working at Fat Ho Burgers, but Evans said she had to invest everything she owned to start it.

"I had to sell my car, my tires, my TV, my laptop, my computer. I had to sell all this to get this up," she told KENS.

The name is bringing in the customers.

"I was just wondering is this the famous place we can get burgers at," one asked.

Another entrepreneur with a vision and will to
commit her own resources to make it happen.
Good luck. The name is certainly “edgy”. If the
product is good, she should do just fine.

Thanks for posting the pic of the lovely lady entrepreneur. I wish thousands more blacks would leave behind government slavery and start their own resturants, too.

most expensive item being a half slab of ribs with ranch-style beans and mash for $11. Fat Ho’s also offers a $1 menu.

The Dollar menu at McDonalds?

It’s one of those things where it will do when you’re pressed for time. There is no presumption that it will taste good.

I’d go eat at Fat Ho Burger if it’s good food.

@ Red Robin for a burger is like 8.99 and up, so $6 is a fair price.

At the same time I am proud of her spirit and determination, I am reminded that no white person could get away with using that name.

But, anyway -

BEST OF LUCK, LAKITA. You are part of America's glory.

Hmmm, I don’t know. I see a name like “Health Camp”, and I’m automatically thinking they specialize in garden burgers.

“”I had to sell my car, my tires, my TV, my laptop, my computer. I had to sell all this to get this up,” she told KENS.”

Only in a few segments of America would selling tires be considered a separate and equaling distressing proposition from selling your car!

Word. S. LA has banned stand-alone fast food places. The idiot black politicians never consider that such places are created by black entrepreneurs to enter the middle and upper class. We need more business people with REAL experience, not academics like Obama.

The black politicians DO NOT WANT private-sector black entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs might get uppity and speak heresy like the need for less government regulations. Worse, people might actually LISTEN to the entrepreneurs and attempt to leave the plantation.

Looks good to me. Around where I live, “gourmet burgers” are all the rage. Give me a regular old classic burger anyday.

Ooh... just noticed the red onions, that’s a no-no on a burger. Gotta go with sweet onions.
