What's in a name? Fat Ho Burgers opens

WACO, Texas, March 25 (UPI) -- A young Texas woman decided there is no such thing as bad publicity when she considered names for her Waco eatery and decided on Fat Ho Burger.

The restaurant opened Tuesday, and Lakisha Evans' plan seems to be working so far, KENS-TV in San Antonio reported. She has a straightforward business plan.

"My burgers, they're cheap. They don't go over 6 bucks because I thought, you know, I grew up in poverty," Evans said.

Evans, 23, grew up in Waco with her mother and five siblings. She is the only one in the family to graduate from college.

The whole family is working at Fat Ho Burgers, but Evans said she had to invest everything she owned to start it.

"I had to sell my car, my tires, my TV, my laptop, my computer. I had to sell all this to get this up," she told KENS.

The name is bringing in the customers.

"I was just wondering is this the famous place we can get burgers at," one asked.

The second line on the banner is also subject to some comments in relation to the first.

Word. S. LA has banned stand-alone fast food places. The idiot black politicians never consider that such places are created by black entrepreneurs to enter the middle and upper class. We need more business people with REAL experience, not academics like Obama.

A Chinese translation of FAT HO might be interesting!

I've been to a few Chinese restaurants that have had Ho Fun on the menu. Never had the nerve to inquire.

snip
Fat Ho’s offers a wide variety of food from burgers to chicken sandwiches to ribs, nachos, country fried steak, quesadillas, hot wings and breakfast items like pancakes and eggs.

You can order items like a Supa Fly Ho with Cheese, the Sloppy Ho Brisket or a Fat Chicken Ho. There are even “Tiny Ho Meals,” sure to raise parents’ eyebrows. The Mexican items are perhaps a nod to three painted mariachi singers who can still be seen on one of the walls from when the restaurant had a different theme.

The vast majority of items are in the $3 to $4 range, with the most expensive item being a half slab of ribs with ranch-style beans and mash for $11. Fat Ho’s also offers a $1 menu.

end snips

I’m waiting to see all the knee jerk reactions over this one.

Awesome name. No one will forget it, that’s for sure.

That is like the Black kid discussing American Indians in class.
He ‘complained’ that the Black tribes never got much publicity and beside they only mentioned the women.

Upon further query he stated...
“Well they talk of the Nava-hos’, but hardly ever mention the men”.
