Looks like a lot od wasted energy!
I’ll stick with gas or JetA and nothing short of 200k!
It looked like it was struggling a bit when flying outdoors.
those clever Germans!
Didn’t think I needed to state that it carry
humans and cargo!
Very impressive simulation of bird flight dynamics. What I wanted to see, and was disappointed in not seeing, was the landing. If a mechanical bird could alight the way an actual flesh-and-blood bird does, it might very readily amount to something. What a great way to travel from the house to a destination less than, say, 15 miles away! "As the crow flies."Ill stick with gas or JetA and nothing short of 200k!
You gotta admit, this mechanism wouldn't necessarily make noise in flight . . .
These are the same folks who made the balloon jellyfish and penguin, and other floating bionic stuff.
There are probably some cool applications for this stuff in the future, as long as it’s not a windy day.
“You gotta admit, this mechanism wouldn’t necessarily make noise in flight . . .”
Noise is horsepower/thrust!
The more the better!!!
Their parrot's looked better.

NIMBY . . .
Fill it full of explosives and ship it to Afghanistan. Then just have it poop out the bombload over some Taliban’s head. That way, it’ll REALLY be simulating bird flight habits!
