If you are going Irish songs, this is tops IMO. I’m not even sure Metallica’s version of “Whiskey in the Jar” is in the Top 5 of covers of that one song.

“Irish Rover” by the Dubliners and The Pogues. Original recording by the Irish Rovers in 1966, but it has probably been played for years before that.

Naturally, I wondered who cut the drum track... wouldn’t surprise me if she did. She’s a gift.

After I sent you the link, I couldn't help giving her another listen, and I also noticed that the backing tracks are original. I had the same thought you did. I'll bet she did all that work herself.

Anyone else wants to know who on earth we're talking about, here she is:

I’m a big Metallica fan, but this might be a better version of “Orion” than even them. Gabriela has some of the quickest hands I’ve seen for some of these golpes (taps) and rasgueados. Her playing on “Tamacun” is jaw-dropping if you’ve ever tried to play that kind of rasgueado. I took flamenco guitar lessons for a couple of years and never approached her technique.

Orion (cover of a Metallica song):

Tamacun (not a cover):

“he liked to have the bass player nearby, right behind him.”

Well, it’s tricky for a piano player playing with a bass player, since you have to make sure your left hand doesn’t step all over him, so maybe that is why he kept him close, so the bass player could see what Ray’s left hand was doing.

As for Billy, I can totally see that, he was a ham.

My three year old niece could play Voodoo Chile if I had her hooked up to a MIDI too... smoke and mirrors...

Sure she would... If you were a guitar player, you'd know better than to make that claim.

Juliette's the real deal, my friend.

I have a feelin’ that I’ve been pickin’ longer than Julie’s been breathin’...

I want to see her jam like Angus Young...( no MIDI, no pedals) guitar-patchcord-amp...

I want to see her play ‘Little Martha’ in open E or G ( acoustic ) I can...

Not jumpin’ on the kid, just the pimps....

Juliette has a gang of videos on YouTube. Most are of her playing guitar, but I ran into a couple that were taken when she was a little kid, playing what sounded to me like classical piano.

I assure you, the kid is the real deal. Spend some time going through her stuff on YouTube, and I think you'll agree.
