I don't have a problem with folks that want to eat catz. More power to them. A braise works best with something like a cat. And I've been overseas where that was done. I prefer horse to cat, and inguana over both.
I do have a problem with those that kill without either using the meat, or to relieve a real pestilence problem.

I would never live in Yankee/Democrat territory, but if the catz are a real pestilence, by all means, take whatever action is required.
But I will not change my life rules. I eat what I kill, unless attacked, or threatened by pestilence.
No change in opinion here.

10 and more years ago, coyote sightings were practically unheard of in my area. That's no longer the case.
An acquaintance of mine is a county game warden. He said feral cats and the people that feed them have put a big dent in the local native animal population, especially birds, lizards and frogs. They in turn have become a food source for the booming coyote population.
The coyotes prey on not only the feral cats, but the house cats people let out at night.

I like yer attitude Johnny.
I hate squirrels, but I can’t kill them in cold blood. I hate possums and raccoons because I’m afraid they’ll eat my turtles, but given a dozen or so chances, I couldn’t slay one of them. I just throw a brick at them and over the fence they go.
I quit killing animals for the hell of it a long time ago. Something about that just turns my stomach. Now, if the SHTF I might take a dove or two with my pellet gun, but that would be a last resort.

"all cats are predators at heart, after all".. Ain't that the truth....we adopted "Boo" when he fell or was dropped off a stone ledge into our yard by his feral mother....he weighed 14 oz....5+ months later and he LOVES to run around and track me, and try and take me down by grabbing my legs. He still bites some...but amazingly has become a very friendly kitty, who even loves to "interview" others who come into our home.

Chuck, Slings means that we both have a cat named Rocket. My Rocket is a black and white Maine Coon. You can see him on my about page. Yeah, it says I’m banned, but you can still scroll down and see him.
Thanks for the ping, SA&

I have found that cats that were once feral are very glad to be kept in the house. The like very familiar surroundings. Because they always felt like they were in danger outside they love the feeling of safty.

Your Rocket looks very much like our Ruth. She was found abandoned in an apartment with two big dogs. After years she finally has pretty much gotten over some of her foibles.
