And why, if people take the snatching from the fields stuff literally, do they not give all their money and goods to the poor as Jesus commands?
I’m asking these questions honestly, I am not attacking you.
Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you”. The church is also referred to as His bride. In ancient Hebrew culture, when a woman and man became betrothed, the man would then go an build a place for his wife. If he was the son of a rich man, it might be a new house. If it was the son of a poor man, it might be just an additional room on his father’s house. Anyway, the father was the one who determined when the place was done and only THEN could he claim his bride.

You are referring to the story of the rich young ruler who Jesus told to give away all his possessions and follow Him. Jesus had a way of finding a person’s stumbling block and knew that the rich young man’s money was his. I am certain that if you or I would have asked, he would have given us similarly difficult tasks.
But Jesus doesn’t call on all to give all their money to the poor. He had many wealthy friends He loved, Lazarus for one, and they weren’t asked to give up their wealth. Jesus told us to spread His word to all peoples and nations. How could this be done if everyone who followed him were a poor as dirt?
