While the media was focused like a white hot beam on the ME, impinging the ability of America and Israel friendly arab nations to deal with the Iran and proxy inspired Shia uprising, something miraculous happened. G_d opened the earth and brought great catastrophe to another place, diverting the attention away from the ME.

Now, with the media scrambling to cover the biggest story in possibly 60 years, the ME friends of Israel and America can effectively deal with the Iranian factions in their kingdoms. It's a miracle for Israel. Not so hot for the rest of us in the short term and apocalyptic for Japan but definitely a miracle for Israel. Also the eventual backlash against nuclear may give the West cover to deal with Iran and Pakistan once and for all.

And to top all of this, 3-11 was the day chosen for the great cataclysm. Another 11 inspired day of great tribulation has occurred. Two this year all ready and we still have 11-11-11 to go. The first was 2-11-11, when the powers to be caused Mubarak to abdicate his reign. This occurred on 2-11-11, a Friday. One month later, on another Friday the 11th, the great earthquake occurred.

There is nothing miraculous about this. We’re just all a little bit more screwed today.

And on January 11th, flooding and mudslides in Rio de Janeiro killed more than 800 people.

Numerology - the number 11 represent a major change of some sort. If numerology is a real science (I have no idea), then 11-11-11 ought to be something significant for sure.

In fact, their inability to repent may indicate that God has given them over to their obsessive delusions of omniscience. However, those who truly love God will, by His grace, escape from these strong delusions, and become of some value to His Kingdom in this day of grace and opportunity. It can happen -- I once sat where they sat, and lapped up the oracular utterances of their "prophecy teachers." Then, God opened my eyes, and my heart.

I fear, though, that the hardness of heart demonstrated by this original post may be a symptom of judicial blindness of mind. These crazies are certainly bringing shame upon our Savior, and discrediting His gospel. Any unbelieving person of normal intelligence would look upon these "prophetic" speculations in the face of human suffering and say, "If that's a Christian, I certainly hope I never become one."

Nobody’s telling fortunes here Westboro-breath. I’m saying what’s happened when the date’s been associated with a number. You can call me conspiratorial until the cows come home and I’ll not protest. But fortune teller is not something I’ll take lightly.

I said watch out and be in awe of it only because my critically thinking brain says there’s something whack about that date.

I’m kind of a mainline Orthodox Jewish type guy. So when my Chabad Rabbi goes off into Kabalistic Numerology, I sorta tune him out. Like the well-read Jewish lady in Adult Ed who quotes the Hebrew, and then talks about reincarnation.

Not to get too slap happy with this 11th stuff but there are a great many things happening that line up with that date. It’s bizarre or something else.

The Shah abdicated on 2-11-79.
9-11-01 US.
3-11-04 Spain.
2-11-11 Mubarak abdicated
3-11 Japan.

Prayers for Japan and prayers for the world. Apparently a true meltdown as in complete breach of this size has planet level implications, whatever that means. There are tons of fissionable materials in the immediate area available to be the source of deadly radiation for as long as it’s left uncapped. Worse yet, one of the reactors ran on plutonium. There’s no iodine defense with plutonium.

I agree with your “critique” of this particular post. I find the reasoning behind it, the LACK of specific scriptural evidence for it and the absence of Christian compassion in it troubling....

I do hope, however, you weren’t painting any particular view of eschatology or theology with a broad brush in your comments. While that wouldn’t be nearly as tragic as the sentiments expressed above, it would be just as inconsiderate of individual perspectives and motivations.
