I predict that that within a year Sheen, will be found penniless and dead in some flea infested motel with a needle in his arm, soaked in booze and his own urine... and a pair of gerbils stuck in his bung hole

I fear his funeral is going to be like the fictional Jay Gatsby’s. Nobody shows up besides immediate family. He doesn’t have a friend in the world that he isn’t paying for.
If an addict is cushioned by a couple hundred million bucks, and surrounded by paid sycophants, like Elvis or Michael Jackson or Anna Nichole Smith he’ll die long before he can hit bottom.

“Charlie Sheen climbed to the top of a building in Beverly Hills on Monday, pulled out a huge machete,... “
Maybe he is auditioning for the part of Manual Noriega in a film about the US invasion of Panama?

I don’t care how much money you start with, drugs and crazy lifestyles will eat it all up.

John Belushi was also out-of-control but I don’t recall him being so publicly obnoxious.

The internet, Twitter, Facebook, etc. wasn’t around back then so he didn’t have so much exposure.

Not really. Belushi, at least, was likable. Sheen reminds me more of Andy Kaufman. When will ol’ Chuck climb in the ring to match wrestling skills with a woman?

Belushi kept his drug habits behind closed doors mostly.
He had way more talent than this nutcase Sheen.

“Sheen’s erratic personal life had prompted Warner to suspend production on the show for the season”
I’m nominating that as understatement of the year. “Erratic personal life” Duh!

Uh oh, it looks to me like he's going to get in trouble with the warlocks again. Add them as one more on the Charlie Sheen enemies list.

I think it has the best sitcom writing on TV.

The media coverage of Charlie is now starting to become transparent. It appears that Charlie is trying a modified version of what Joaquin Phoenix did with Casey Affleck in their movie "Im Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix".
Now released from his contract, he can become the media event as planned. Remember the Letterman interview with Joaquin? The question is - is this form of display marketable? And the answer is yes, but when people realize it is acting, the intrigue is gone and it's becomes phase two of the plan. Phase two is probably a book and a movie about the experience.

Out-of-control substance abusers cant be insured, therefore no producer will hire them for fear of having their shooting schedule upended. That's why Robert Downey Jr. hasn't made a movie since the 80s.

Sheen’s an amateur. Belushi was dead at 33, and Charlie is already 45.
