Putting the rumors to rest: iPad 2 announced today Hands-on review: How does Motorola Xoom compare to iPad? Apple expected to unveil new iPad today If one of your companys goals for 2011 was to introduce a tablet to complete with the iPad, you can expect to struggle.
The second most powerful evidence of this happened just a minute ago, as I pulled out my iPad and keyboard here in my San Francisco hotel lobby to write this very same column.
Looks like youre going to have to buy a new one of those, said an electrician as he passed by me on the way to his truck. The new ones coming out on the 11th.
I didnt tell him that I had attended the Apple iPad 2 press event that morning. No, sometime in the previous hour or two, this random stranger had heard about the new version of the iPad ... and he remembered the ship date. Thats how successful Apples been. Looks like my daughter is getting one for her birthday.

102 have been announced.
She got hooked on the ipod touch and that’s what put the iPad into her head, so I probably won’t get a whiff of it. I might try it once or twice, though. Maybe. Just maybe.

I’m reading this on a rooted Book Color.
Nook
The only need I’ve had for one, is covered by the camera connector kit. The kit accommodates either an SD card directly, or for my CF Card camera; USB cable connect.
For any other reason, I’ve not had the need for one.
Drop box is much nicer.
Yea, that must be it.
I’m sure the reason they chose to pass on a $.10 chip to add SD card functionality and instead sell a “camera connector kit” has nothing to do with the fact that if you could pop in a 32gig SD card it might impact sales of the “high-end” units.
"The Xoom tablet is trim, light, and very pretty ... but when you place it next to the iPad 2, it looks as though it was designed and built by angry Soviet prison labor instead of by Motorola."
heh heh
Wonder how the $799 Xoom sales are doing.
Does the keyborad slide out the bottom so you can type on it?
Hubby loves dropbox
I wouldn’t mind an IPad but for reading they are horrible, I’ll stick with my Kindle.
