Ok, so I have this niece who I love but, would love to strangle right now. We've been doing the usual back and forth about WI. I posted about what pigs these people were and she posted back that she went to a tea party, there were guns, racist signs, they left the place a mess. I don't know if she really was there or not. I've never heard that any tea party has left a place a big mess. I asked her for proof, that was just a bit ago, so no response yet. I know that there are nuts and mean evil people on both sides. What I see is a disproportionate number of those people on the left. You have an occasional one on the right but, it's the norm on the left.
Quit wasting your time and just let her think you are a knuckle dragging illiterate moron tea-bagger lead around by a nose ring by the Koch brother cabal.
You know the evil Koch brothers who control the vast right wing conspiracy!!!
Once her eyes are opened a little, like a new born kitten, she will ask for your opinion
I’d suggest you avoid being confrontational about it. Just send her something like, “I never thought you’d lie to me” and leave it at that. She’ll probably lose it, but she won’t have the exceuse that she lost it because her mean ol’ aunt was nasty to her.
On second thought, my advice to you in my last post is wrong and I apologize. Family is family. Let it go and avoid discussing politics with her in the future.
Conservative rallies are well known as events where the grounds are CLEANER after the event, than before they were there.
She is a liar.
Don’t waste your time with her, liberals are insane.
I don’t ever engage my idiot leftist in-laws in any topic deeper than The Weather.
It ain’t worth it.
They are too stupid, and they believe anything their union bosses or liberal media talking heads say to them.
Just say no to liberals.
Let God deal with them later.
Yea, your right about that. My ma is another one, sheesh
In similar situations I've used the technique of contrary notions to provoke an ephihany => "duh, what ???" moment in the moron.
As in “Yes Tancredo was correct but you misunderstood him - he meant ALL morons should have to be tested before getting their voting rights.” which I suspect IS what he had in mind.
OR
"You DOOO KNOW what a real teabagger is don't you" (Lowering voice as in an aside statement "you know - one of your male Queer friends do it all the time, they're the real thing") ?? all the while feigning being in her world of “faery-headed know-it-allness”.
LOL, good one. I’ll have to give that one a try.
Fixed it for ya. ;-)
Just ignore her and tell her why.Tell her when she gets her head out of her ass you will talk again. The tea party are patriots who paid for everything. Why would we wreck it all?The left didnt pay for crap.
Thanks...old dogs, new tricks. :{)
Oh, your good...lol
Excellent point!!! Those that pay always respect what they’ve had to earn. While those who got a free ride, don’t respect it and many times are down right ungrateful for what they do have.
Pop back to her that according to the WI Constitution the Governor must issue “writs of election” for filling vacant seats, Article 4, Sec 14 IIRC... then tell her that because the Democrats fled the state they have left their seats vacant.
See what her response is. ;)
brilliant analysis.
They say if you repeat a lie often enough people begin to believe you. I think the left does it so much that they believe their own lies.
Those that are truly evil and those that are useful idiots.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Both are very dangerous to freedom.
It was the 2000 election recount in Florida that did it for me. It was then that I realized I could never again have a Democrat ( really they are communists) for a friend. They are either too evil or too stupid.
As for family, when there are Marxists ( AKA “Democrats”) at the party, I strive mightily **NOT** to discuss politics.
As for your niece, if she works in the private sector reality will smack her in the nose soon enough. If she makes a living from the government, forget it. She will never come around.
She works in the private sector part time and then works on the side making money under the table. Her hubby does the same thing. They pay no taxes.
In my large extended family, I am the only conservative that I know of. As such, get-togethers with the rest of the clan can sometimes become ‘interesting’.
I’m not known for holding back, and amongst the family, I’ve got a reputation for speaking my mind, and for never backing down in an argument.
Consequently, I’ve probably debated every close family member on politics scores of times, and have never walked away defeated. I haven’t exactly won every round, either, but no one in the clan has ever dismantled a single argument I’ve made.
I say all this to tell you that I’ve finally come to the point where I’m no longer interested in debating with them about politics. In actual fact, I never was. I only wanted to impart enough solid data and reasoning to them, to get them to open their eyes to what’s in front of them.
For the most part, that hasn’t worked. What I’ve found, is that every person has to make their own choice to seek the truth about the world we live in. You can’t spoon feed it to them. And so, I’ve quit trying.
The way I see it is, they’re grown people. They need to have the capacity to make simple observations for themselves, and come to the logical conclusion that maybe - just maybe, something’s not quite adding up. Armed with that deduction, they need to begin their own search for the real truth.
Hope that helps.
