A Pennsylvania woman on vacation in Florida took a tip from two dolphins to save a lost Doberman Pinscher that got stranded on a sandbar.

When Audrey D'Alessandro and her husband, Sam, walked out of their home on Marco Island, near Naples, Fla., to go fishing, "we saw these two dolphins, and they were splashing and making this big commotion" in a canal behind their vacation home, she said.

Although it is not uncommon to see dolphins swimming through the canal on their way to the Gulf of Mexico, Audrey D'Alessandro said that this time, "they were just there, in one place, splashing water against the canal wall."

Must have been Saturday morning. There is a Mod that works Saturday mornings that’s a real unfunny b**ch.

I enjoy the work of Georgia O'Keefe. I suppose the desert sun makes short of cleaning/bleaching the skulls.

I appealed to her; "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO JOE???"

By some miracle, he was spared.

Ah, that is a distinct possibility. I so rarely post anymore that I wondered what was happening.

Give Miss Slippy a hug for me! I’m still rocking it out over here, just working away.

Turn your head/body sideways.
Stand completely still so that you do not make eye contact.

Do NOT scream, move quickly, run away or wave wildly at it.

If the dog is not insane or rabid, most will recognize that as non-confrontational body language and lose interest.

Sometimes, just yelling NO!, DOWN! or SIT! will confuse/defuse an otherwise obedience trained dog.

“Alpha” body language is ALL about looking like you don’t care, aren’t impressed and in control enough to disregard a subordinate’s stupid behavior.

Unless, of course, some handler has sicced a trained dog on you.

Then, all bets are off and you’re screwed.

Oh, hell yeah.

We self-police.

When one of us screws up, the rest defend them to the death.
Then, when it’s over, we take ‘em apart ourselves for causing us aggravation.

Very effective.

:)
