A panel of scientists has said that climate change was behind this years heavy snow and extreme storms that struck much of the planet.
As temperatures continue to rise, affecting weather patterns, they are also warning that spring could come early, bringing with it devastating floods.
The researchers say it has led to more moisture in the air is likely to bring about extraordinary flooding across huge areas when deep snow-pack melts and heavy rain falls as spring arrives.
Global warming means that more water from the sea evaporates and the warmer the atmosphere is, the more the moisture it can hold.
However, when the skies reach saturation point there can be intense storms that lead to flash flooding on vast scales like that in Australia, Sri Lanka and Brazil. Spring could come a couple of weeks earlier this year, bringing with it devastating floods
North America also suffered higher than average precipitation with four times the usual amount of snow falling in some places according to Jeff Masters, director for meteorology at Weather Underground.
He said: 'If you were to take all that water and melt it, it would come out to more than six inches over large swathes of the area.
'If all that water gets unleashed in a hurry, in a sudden warming, and some heavy rains in the area, we could be looking at record flooding along the Upper Mississippi River and the Red River in North Dakota.'

So, someone help me out here - isnt the logical conclusion that the ice ages were caused by global warming?
Good point. Glaciers are caused by an annual cycle of more snow precipitation than compensatory melting. So global warming, by the logic presented, should result in increased glaciation, i.e. "ice ages." (Phenomena which incidentally occurred routinely and repeatedly eons before Toyota SUV's.)
Do these government parasites, known as "climate scientists," have any clue whatsoever?
I will concede the mathematical modeling, routinely employing partial diffEq equations and which these participants must have weathered in academia, requires analytical skills beyond the average taxi driver; but then why oh why are they wasting their energies on fraudulent science when they could be producing useful technology for the nation?

Oh BULLSH!T! I have a panel of scientists that say that this panel are a bunch of greedy, leftist grant wh0res.

That’s absolutely right. Global warming is causing an ice age, and anthropogenic global flatulence is causing too much frozen water in the atmosphere.
So all the stories of the blizzards in the pioneer days I’ve read about, plus all the stories of brutal winters told to me by long dead old-timers - what the hell exactly was all that?
I’m predicting Man Made Stock Market Change. This will cause the stock market to go up, and down, in an unpredictable fashion. The only cure is govt controlled markets, and an increase in taxes on dividends, capital gains, and a reduction of the Unified Credit to a more reasonable $10,000 per person.
I like the new Colder-than-usual-winters-argument you now here.
Ten years ago the warmer winters (El Nino) were the proof.
Smoking crack IS the likely cause of why these global warming idiots changed their collective snakeoil salesman saying and proffs to global climate change too .... =.=
LOL, you know you just can't make this stuff up.
And 30 years ago they were hollering about the “nuclear winter.”. I don’t think their guru is alinsky so much as Barnum. And I have a whole new appreciation for fairy takes; Chicken Little in particular.
That’s funny. I was about 6 years old 30 years ago, and I can remember my mother telling me about how all the scientists say we’re going to have another Ice Age.
Okey doke. And that record freeze in northern Mexico that destroyed their crops was not accompanied by any precipitation. No explanation for that from these geniuses.
1. Are we currently in an ice age yes or no?
answer: Yes the Quaternary Ice Age. Which means we are currently in an interglacial period and due to for glaciation soon.
2. CO2 levels for the past 500 million years, are they at currently extremely high or extremely low levels?
answer: extremely low the average CO2 levels for the last 500 million years is over 3000 ppm. CO2 is so low in fact if CO2 drops another 100 ppm all plants stop growing.
I actually tried an experiment in my house last summer. I don't have central air conditioning. All these expert scientists are saying that Global Warming is causint the cooldown. So I turned the heat on in my house to cool it down. The experiment failed. I blamed Bush.
