The video for her new single Hold It Against Me debuted just last week but Britney Spears and the first song from her new album has certainly made an impact, although perhaps not in the way she was hoping for.
In fact, the 29-year-old singer is being accused of plagiarism and is facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit.
Britney is accused of ripping off the rock ballad If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me by the Bellamy Brothers.

Stupid lawsuit.
Yes, and that double entendre has been used by many other comedians.
“...ripping off the rock ballad ...”
The Bellamy Bros. wrote/preformed a “rock ballad?” LOL.
I met the Bellamy Brothers. Arrogant a&&holes.
It is a stupid lawsuit. I just listened to both songs (I hope to recover by next week) and there is clearly no relationship between the songs. One phrase is just not worth suing over. Maybe the Bellamy Bros are hard up for cash.
Does seem somewhat desperate, doesn't it?
Sound nothing alike! (Forced myself to listen..ugh!)
IITYWIMWYBMAD?
Well, that’s a new one on me.
Whoa ... Quadruplets!

Remember “Bittersweet Symphony”....
from wicki-
Although the song’s lyrics were written by Verve vocalist Richard Ashcroft, it has been credited to Keith Richards and Mick Jagger after charges by the original copyright owners that the song was plagiarized from the Andrew Oldham Orchestra recording of The Rolling Stones’ 1965 song “The Last Time.”
Originally, The Verve had negotiated a licence to use a sample from the Oldham recording, but it was successfully argued that the Verve had used “too much” of the sample.[5] Despite having original lyrics, the music of “Bittersweet Symphony” is partially based on the Oldham track, which led to a lawsuit with ABKCO Records, Allen Klein’s company that owns the rights to the Rolling Stones material of the 1960s. The matter was eventually settled, with copyright of the song reverting to ABKCO and songwriting credits to Jagger and Richards.
