TCM ^ | 2/15/11 | Vision

Posted on 02/15/2011 4:41:25 PM PST by Vision

I had an idea to alert The Big Broadcast ping list of when fantastic classic movies play on TCM. Just trying the idea out to see if there is interest.

Tonight a gem...My Man Godfrey (1936), at 8pm est.

Sure! I'm a bit genre-centric, but TCM has aired a lot of interesting movies over the years........

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Sounds like a good idea, Vision. I am not real familiar with many movies, but am trying to start watching a few of the “classics” when they come around.

They don’t make movies this good anymore IMO.

Let me know if you want on the ping list.

Last month was over 50 hours of Little Rascals and Laurel and Hardy. Thankful for my DVR.

It's Oscar month this month on TCM. The 31 Days Of Oscar, which includes feature-length films and Oscar Award winning short films.

I LOVE TCM...and have for years. After a day of struggle I love hunkering down with a calming beverage to be soothed by the oldies.

Even though Robert Osborne is likely a leftie I still love him as long as he doesn't push an agenda.

Been watching a sting of classics lately on Netflix as well. Can't seem to get enough lately.

I can't figure him out (and don't want to). He can keep Alec Baldwin in place.

I love the Pete Smith Specialties they run between flicks. I haven’t seen them in decades. They were always a hoot. Smith’s delivery was superb and funny as all get out. Just wish they’d end up on DVD’s some day. I’d buy all of them.

I’ve been listening to a lot of swing music lately.

Lately it just seems the popular music is worse than ever. It’s horrid.

Some good classics on netflix right now are Laura, Arsenic and Old Lace, Going My Way, and if you’re in for something witty and British try Blithe Spirit, about a writer who is haunted by the ghost of his first wife - while he’s living with his second.
