Billy Ray Cyrus Scared For Daughter Miley, Says Hannah Montana 'Destroyed My Family'

Country crooner Billy Ray Cyrus blames Disney's "Hannah Montana" for his daughter Miley Cyrus' issues, angrily saying "the damn show destroyed my family," the New York Post reported Tuesday.

Blaming publicists and Miley's handlers, Cyrus gives an anguished interview in GQ's March issue, where he adds he wishes "Hannah Montana" never happened.

"I hate to say it, but yes, I do. I'd take it back in a second," said Cyrus, who is divorcing Miley's mother, Tish.

Reflecting on Miley's controversial moments -- including seductive photos on the internet, pole-dancing at the Teen Choice Awards, and posing for Vanity Fair draped in a sheet -- Cyrus said he should have been stricter, and accuses her handlers of going too far to promote her, and then using him as the fall guy.

Let's see, Cyrus spent the last ten years or so pimping his daughter. Now he is ‘sorry’.
What happened? Did Miley cut him off from the money tree? Not the first time it has happened. In fact the list of parental pimps and madams is very long. Very long indeed. And the list of whore ed kids cutting off their parents is also long and getting longer.

He was on the show too. You would think at least being there on the set with his daughter would have allowed him to do a better job of controlling her.

Well Billy Ray, giving away all the money you made off of pimping your daughter might help you feel better about it all.

. . . . .

. . . . .

Yeah, I didn’t think you would.

Lamenting the child's television career while divorcing the child's mother. I'm a big fan Billy Ray, but get the log out of your own eye before worrying about the splinters in the eyes all around.

Hasn’t that show been recently cancelled? NOW he wishes it never happened?

I guess the idea that his daughter was out running around without underwear at 14, that’s like normal in his neck of the woods?

Get an FN clue, dude. She’s already damaged goods...

I feel bad for him, the whole family actually.

Look, the lure and flattery of fame, celebrity, is intoxicating to ordinary humans—probably 85% of people.

It is also life-ruining, and the fame machine will use you, milk you til you are no longer worth the investment, and then cast your sorry carcass alongside the road, allowing you to rot.

The ‘handlers’ and the moneymen are modern day vampires.

I have some experience in this.

Their last thought is the mental or physical health of the ‘product’...it is all about how much payoff they get out of the investment.

If humans do not balance and break their addiction to celebrity—remember this is idol worship, pure and simple—the entertainment industry (mass narcotic)will once again, in cyclical form, be the fall of humanity.

He certainly didn’t seem to mind the checks that kept rolling in. His career fizzled. His daughters skyrocketed. Is he trying to say he had nothing to do with her career success?

If it wasn’t for celebrity rehab reality shows, we’d never remember who even half the players in hollywood were?

My daughter came up to me one day and said how cool it would be if she could be a TV actress like the ones on the Disney Channel.

I talked her right out of that thought, fame isn’t worth it, despite the attempts to portray it as glamorous in the media. It takes way too high of a toll.

Billy Ray sounds like Obama. He spent all this money and now complains about the spending.

Billy Ray, just say what you mean... that this is all about money and control... both of which you’re going to lose when your spawn reaches the age of maturity (whenever that is).

She’s your daughter, Mr. Cyrus. You could have put an end to the show and reined her in at any time.

I'm not making excuses for him, but in all honestly, if he would have tried to take her off the show I guarantee you the courts would have said otherwise if she pursed that avenue. Miley is going to turn into a total druggie loser like most child hood actors, it'a a shame, now he's getting divorced and so on. The truth is Hollywood is the playground of the devil and he is crouching at the door waiting to devour all who enter therein ...

“Daddy sold his soul, his daughter’s, and I’m afraid millions of other kids for the all mighty dollar. It wasn’t worth it.”

Since Miley was a minor, HE HAD CONTROL OVER IT ALL. So don’t blame handlers of a minor, Billy Ray Jim Bob Jefferson Lee CYRUS.

Tom Cruise, in "Tropic Thunder"

I know it was comedy, but the reality hit so hard it made your soul hurt.

She skidded into a trailer trash lady of the evening. He was the grease on the skids. So now he complains?

Sad, that!

Don’t worry, Billy Ray... you’ll always have “Achy Breaky Heart”!

Way back in 1993 or 1994 (a few years after that song) David Spade was on SNL's Weekend Update and said this: "Today was Billy Ray Cyrus' lucky day: he found a five-dollar bill in a taxi cab."

Ouch!
