Tammy Bruce, columnist, radio host & conservative gay activist, announced on her website today that she will resign her position as advisory board member to GoProud.
I want to let you know that after being a supporter and serving as Chair of the Advisory Board since May of 2010, I gave Chris Barron and Jimmy LaSalvia my resignation Saturday night. If you search GOProud here at the blog youll see the affection with which Ive held both Chris and Jimmy, and I wish them well.
I spoke with Tammy at the CPAC convention and when asked for comment on the reason for her departure she had no comment except to reiterate her position from the website that she, looks forward to working with conservatives across the spectrum on issues that matter to all of us.

Dude, if you said Kristi Noem and Patti Ann Brown, you’d be near the ballpark. Right now you’re projecting.
Really! Breitbart is one of the good guys to me. Free flowing information is good, at least in my estimation.
Tammy Bruce bailed on GOProud because they’re not truly conservative, period. All the crud they’re dragging, what they truly support, is radioactive to conservatives.
They’re using CPAC in an effort to split conservatives. Tammy isn’t having any of it. She should get credit for that, big guy!
I believe she will one way or another, but she left GOPac because they made it clear that they were just as bad as those who protested them said they would be. She didn't say it publicly, but they completely embarrassed folks who are conservative who just happen to be gay.
It was a fortunate bit of overreach for the conservative movement in an opportune time.
Gay conservatives will have to choose, accept that we cannot live with the "family" being redefined so that eventually all of the protections afforded to families must be stripped, which is the ultimate end of the path that begins with "gay" marriage. Gay conservatives also have to live with some restriction of gay activity in the military because open acceptance of gay activity under the current conditions will corrupt the military and its mission, not that the issue of women in the military isn't as big or bigger as a problem for similar reasons. This is the "real" elephant in the room. The amount of abuse of women in the service is unbelievable, and the whole system needs deep rethinking.
We might believe in equality, but we cannot repeal human nature. People who fly in the face of the plain facts of human nature need to proceed with caution and humility. It isn't impossible to win in these circumstances, just difficult. People who start with a deep denial of the reality of humanity though do not have a chance of success, rather beginning that path is a prelude to misery for all.
Tammy Bruce is a realist on both of these scores. She still claims to be gay, but she understands that human liberty is at stake at the moment and the folks espousing "gay" causes are just pushing "stalking horses" or ideas that look good on paper but are intended to drive corruption and divide those who would support liberty.
Pissant, many folks have been telling you that you have become no better than a troll. And, I am becoming inclined to agree after defending you in a number of forums.
You need to do some soul searching, or you could find yourself permanently banned. You have and do provide good conversation starters but you have become a comical character in your own way and have become disruptive.
Nevertheless, Sarah Palin picked up some very effective intellects and organizers in the last election cycle in the form of the "PUMA" bunch and in this were some very outspoken "gay" people. Tammy Bruce, the HillBuzz crew, and others. Add to this, that Palin tends to a Libertarian stance on "gay" rights which essentially equals human rights of any human, but not any special privileges. This stance bugs you.
She doesn't preach hate for gays. There is a wide gulf between tolerance and acceptance. Gay activists would argue that this is a narrow gap and "MUST" be bridged if you cross the first line. But, in fact, this is not so. Tolerance is the respect of the human dignity of those who are lost but have hope of being saved ultimately. It is the result of hate the sin but love the sinner. But, it is an unstable state, one that demands change, because tolerance of the human because of their inherent dignity cannot bend to toleration of the act of the sin or it encouragement. But, this is a painful place for those who are tolerated. If they are to continue with their behavior they must argue for acceptance, yet it is our obligation to say no to this. Toleration that is the garden of salvation is a place where weeds must be identified and removed. Yet it is a place where you get your hands dirty.
Ultimately, you don't trust Sarah Palin to live her faith or witness its application, and this in the face of her doing that pretty much all of the time. If you want to see her in action, watch that "Reality Show" when she had Kate Gosselin along. The people making the show had fun at Kate's expense, but watch Sarah Palin and her family and how they deal with this woman and her kids. The kids are treated with grace, the woman is allowed her own space and the dignity of making even stupid decisions for her own kids.
Another telling highlight of that same series was the hunt. Most producers and frankly every politician I can think of would have cut the whole string of missed shots, but they didn't. You have to ask yourself why.
You are welcome to hate Sarah Palin or distrust her or what ever, but you need to bring a better game.
Arrf..Freudian slip. I meant GOProud.
Half a day with Sarah Palin and her head would explode.
You have just named two very cute, tight, perky young ladies. Who can easily beat the slutsville stuff from Hollywood such as Cameron Diaz and Scarlett Johansson who was great in Horse Whisperer eons ago
Oh that’s what Sarah needs. A rabid lesbian.
To add to what you wrote, tolerance also requires disagreement with that which is tolerated. Where agreement exists the idea of “tolerance” doesn’t apply. So tolerance and acceptance are not only not the same, they seem to me to be opposites.
I’m a Palin supporter, but you have a point with this.
Palin RT the Tammy Bruce thing a few weeks back. Then she “boycotts” CPAC because of GOProud. Then it turns out that Tammy Bruce is in GOProud.
First she Retweets Tammy Bruce then she boycotts CPAC because of Tammy Bruces organization.
Not consistent.
Tammy Bruce and I have one thing in common, we both like women.
I hardly ever watch movies, so you gots me. My tastes are generally for the women of Hollywoods golden era, not todays bimbos.
Great post!
Only if they’ll hustle out to the kitchen to bring him a sandwich and a beer afterwords. And promise not to vote, have an opinion or run for office...
What has she actually DONE that has hurt the conservative cause? One hears only lies or silence.
What has she done to help? Geez—where to BEGIN!!!
I knew a guy who fathered two kids, then when they were adolescent he decided he was a woman-in-a-man's-body, left his wife, and lived as a woman with another man who decided to live as a woman. VERY strange guy. I only knew him as "father of my daughter's friend".
My wife's friend left her husband, also a father, because she caught him dealing with transvestite prostitutes.
How is it that all of these Republicans are surrounded by gays? Why is it that we’re hearing about unacceptable gay republicans and acceptable gay republicans?
A fight in the Republican Gay Community it seems.
I did not know there was a Republicans Gay Community.
I don’t really think there should be one.
I don’t really think there should be different gay groups in the Republican Party.
And I’m not happy to hear that Sarah Palin is involved in some sort of GOP Gay Fight. It’s really bad. The idea that we’re sorta having to think about which type of Gay Republican is best is not a good one. I like Gay Democrats, because they function well as targets. We don’t really want to have gay people standing next to you when your attacking gays. It just would be easier not to do that. I would like to be able to use wedge issues comfortably. And Gay is a wedge issue, it’s a vote getter. We want to be able to not have to worry about the feelings of gay staffers. And they all want gay marriage if they say they do or not. You have to assume that, anyway.
Romney, having brought Gay Marriage to Massachusetts, is the hero to the gays. He’s the one affiliated most strongly with GOProud. Romney brought Gay Marriage in to Massachusetts because that makes it easier to bring in Polygamy, which is what Romney wants. Gay Marriage is worse than Polygamy.
Maybe she didn’t like being one of the least effeminate members of the group.
last I heard he was definitely a left handed lover
Lookey here. Herbert Hoover’s G-Granddaughter Margaret Hoover (attractive blonde RINO) is on the board. Maybe Tammy checked out when she realized that Margaret has a (male) husband.
“conservative gay activist,”
Sorry, no such thing. I’m sick of hearing about “conservative” gay activists. B.S.—wake up people.
