Bedbugs are plaguing New York City public schools like never before, according to the latest stats from the Department of Education.
City schools reported 1,700 confirmed bedbug cases in just the first five months of the school year -- a rate that's on pace to triple last year

How much soap and bug spray could they buy with $500,000
hand it out to everyone and tell them to clean their pig stye’s
That would certainly ‘raise awareness’
Seen a whole lot of stories about bedbugs lately. This either means the government is about to start a multi-billion-dollar program that literally allows it in your bedroom to hunt for the critters, or someone connected with some high government official runs a bedbug eradication business and needs some $$$.
Neither soap nor bug spray will do a darn thing about bedbugs.
Shhhhhhhhh - we have an infestation but we won't tell you where so you can actually do anything about it... because it would be insensitive
DDT Anyone?
The obvious solution is to provide taxpayer-funded maid service for the homes of all students.
If I were Jan Brewer, I’d send some undercover investigators to NYC to get all kinds of videotape of bedbugs in hotel rooms all over the city and go public about the threat of out-of-state bedbugs being brought into AZ from NYC.
How many babies will die from Whooping Cough?
For years, we had a border - and we were relatively safe from many diseases that are popping back up. And the reason is Mexico. Bedbugs, lice and other ‘goodies’ are going to become commonplace.
Sounds like some multicultural diversity to embrace and celebrate.
Could you post a source link? Thanks
“It is important to know that schools are not hospitable places for bedbugs,” Feinberg said. They are brought into schools from the clothing.
Is Fienberg suggesting that the kids come to school “au natural”?
Bloomberg should welcome the diverse population. Perhaps by designating the new immigrants the city mascot, because, like the city government, they suck blood for a living.
I’m wondering about the bedbug issue, as well. My sister was in NYC for a week, early Dec...with her grandkids and daughter...no bedbugs.
My son and his wife spent 8 days there mid December...no bedbugs. Truth is there are bedbug problems but they range across the entire US and Canada. Seems like someone in NYC might have an agenda because that’s where all the hype seems to be coming from.
NYC does have a lot of reports, but so do cities in Canada (i.e. Toronto and Vancouver.)

It can get expensive to rid a home of bedbugs. Lots of people can’ afford to replace their matresses an sleeping cushions.
Bed bugs and head lice....two more things homeschooling mothers don’t have to worry about.
The beds in NYC schools must all be from sex-ed classes, probably worse things than bedbugs infected them. /sarc
“It’s just an outbreak and I don’t know how they can stop it,”
...close the borders. America is being reintroduced to all kinds of diseases thanks to subhumans being allowed sanctuary. Whooping cough and leprosy are 2 more fun filled contagions to look forward to!
Oh, geez, now I am ITCHY!! Yuck.
