Mark Murphy is an educated man and a former hard-hitting NFL safety. Both conditions help the Green Bay Packers' president understand why Super Bowl XLV is unique. "To me it's the two most storied franchises in the league," he said of the Packers and Steelers, who meet today at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. "You look at the team with the most championships versus the team with the most Super Bowl championships. It's really something." The names ring out. Art Rooney and Curly Lambeau. Terry Bradshaw and Bart Starr. Joe Greene and Ray Nitschke. Chuck Noll and Vince Lombardi. And on and on.

The Steelers aint all that dirty. It looks like they are because the Refs hate the Steelers. They throw flags at every stupid hit.
I have seen Ben get clobbered and no flags..but if Harrison even touches the wrong QB, he get smacked with a huge fine.
And the Commish is a real douche bag. Saying bad things in a interview about Ben a week before the big game. What a real class act.
If you watch this one, the first thing you'll notice is that Ray Scott isn't doing the play by play anymore. The next thing will be the way the players celebrate the smallest achievments out on the field like no one else could have done it.
It doesn't matter how many teams there were since Pittsburgh, for most of those early years was one of the "true NFL teams" getting beat by the Packers. Heck, even the Vikings won an NFL Championship with the Steelers in the same league, right before the Steelers went to the dark side along with the Colts and Browns.
Sure it matters. When your league awards its title with the best w/l ,no playoffs, no integration, you have only 13(11 before the 1950’s expansion) teams and not all teams played the same amount of games in the early part of the NFL(1930’s) it matters.
It is like teams counting MNC’s before 1936(advent of the polling era), or basketball teams in college counting Helms titles before the tourney era began.
The fifth-oldest franchise in the NFL, the Steelers were founded on July 8, 1933 by Arthur Joseph Rooney. Originally named the Pittsburgh Pirates, they were a member of the Eastern Division of the 10-team NFL. The other four current NFL teams in existence at that time were the Chicago (Arizona) Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears and New York Giants.11/30/2009 _______________________________________________________ The Green Bay Packers have won more championships 12 than any other team in National Football League history.
They won their first three by league standing (1929, 1930 and 1931), and nine since the NFLs playoff system was established in 1933 (1936, 1939, 1944, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1967 and 1996).
Green Bay also is the only NFL team to win three straight titles, having done it twice (1929-30-31 and 1965-66-67).
In addition, the Packers won the first two Super Bowls (over Kansas City in 1966, 35-10, and over Oakland in 1967, 33-14), as well as a more recent one (over New England in 1996, 35-21).
Since the league implemented a playoff system in 1933, the Packers have played in the NFLs deciding game 12 times (10 NFL title appearances from 1936-67, two Super Bowls after the 1970 merger). Only the Giants (18) have played for more titles.

So....who are ya rootin’ for again? ;-)
LOL. You really don't remember the 70s, do you? The brand of 'hard hitting' football every team played in the 70s has no comparison to taday's game. If they handed out fines then for hard hits back then, most of the players would be living on food stamps. Good grief. It's almost powder puff football today by comparison.
Cheesehead, check.....
Packer jersey, double check.....
Well I`m good to go!!!!
check...
plus the car flags have been removed and now adorn the TV
Well I`m good to go!!!!
And the beer? What about the beer? ;-)
Keep lying to yourself, someday it might come true. Meanwhile right now, and in all history, the Steelers aren’t a dirty team and saying they are is just plain idiotic.

Well, I got the Cold Corona’s with lime, the Salsa Cheese and Wheat Thin crackers, the refried beans and Rotel dip, and the baked potatoes (the Steeler concession). If the Iggles were playin’ I’d have Philly Cheese steaks, but pot roast will have to do for the Pittsburgh crowd.
What a pant-load...
Pittsburgh was in the league all those years right along with the Packers and other than thier abilities on the field, had every opportunity to win championships prior to the advent of the Super Bowl, but they didn't. Your analogy is like saying George Washington can't be considered an excellent president because there were onlhy 13 states. LOL
The reality is that the only reason you try to make this case is because your team comes out on top of this subset of championships known as the Super Bowl. No amount of spin can change that.
I've been a fan of the Packers since before I can remember. I'm looking forward to today's game because it's a matchup between to storied franchises and has the potential to be a game for the ages.
Now - Explain to us all how Pittsburgh got jobbed by the refs.
Oops - maybe you jumped.
