Bubble wrap is great. I saved it for years and wouldn’t have been able to move house without it and newsprint (unprinted newspaper paper).
OTOH, packing peanuts are a curse and a scourge.
The virtual BW is okay, but the real thing is soooo much better.

True, Velcro, or “hook and loop fastener” is also a great invention. Invented by a Swill guy who after walking his dogs through a field noticed the burrs sticking to his pant cuffs, put the burrs under magnification and saw the little hooks on the burrs. From what I read, it took him something like 17 years to get it into patent and production.
