Love your classy post.....long before there even WERE Jets
Vs. Patriots, the Bears and Packers were mixin it up.
I can't deny I'm disappointed, but i am still thrilled
my Bears were even in it this year.
Congrats to the Packers and Steelers.....may the best team win!

Yeh. Odd that he couldn’t identify the play where he got “hurt”.

He was traded from Denver to Chicago for Orton.

From Wikipedia: On April 2, Cutler was traded to the Chicago Bears along with a fifth-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. In return, the Broncos received quarterback Kyle Orton, the Bears’ first- and third-round selections in 2009, and the Bears’ first-round pick in 2010.

A torn MCL is what I suspected because he was able to stand on it during the second half and walk on it but you know something is wrong in your joint. He left for the locker room before the rest of the team did and I suspect that was to take an MRI which revealed the damage.

They have a lot invested in Cutler so it would have been stupid to send him back out there, even with the Super Bowl on the line against the hated Packers.

I’d still like to hear an official diagnosis but a torn MCL would make perfect sense going by the events that took place. You don’t really need your MCL to walk, but you sure don’t want to have a second knee ligament damaged because you tried to play on it and took another hit.

X-rays don’t show an acl tear. An MRI , yes. I’m thinking the center for the steelers has a broken ankle/ tib-fib or some damage to the joint

Appearances are everything. If he was as injured as they are saying, he should have left the sideline.....at least for a while. As a Bears fan, it looked bogus.

Sounds to me like he was traded for 2 first round picks, not so much losing his starting job to Orton (who wasnt ever on a team with him). Being traded for 2 1sts makes you a pretty special player to someone.

Had one of the kids come up to me in pre-game warmups saying he was twisting in his loosening routine and now his knee “just didn’t feel right” My partner and I both examined him and found a little fluid in his knee with just a little extra motion. On anyone else we would have both cleared him to play but this kid was a stud and if he said he didn’t feel right then who were we to argue. The MRI the following Monday showed a ruptured ACL, MCL and torn lateral meniscus.

Philip Rivers played with a torn ACL.

And may have cost his team a shot at the Super Bowl.

Give credit to Hainey (sp?), too. Apart from the late interception, he made a pretty good effort.

Given that Cutler was totally ineffective and scored no points, one would think Bears fans would be happy that he sat on the sidelines. Hainey did great.

I think LT's absence from the game was a bigger factor in that loss.

He’s standing on the sidelines. His knee could’nt be that bad.

Looks as if the NFL has been wussified. It’s the NFC championship game. This was a very special event. The Packers vs. Bears in the NFC final.
Where’s the “reaching deep to win” philosophy?

Cutler is not in the same league as the top NFL QB’s. He is now a known quitter.
There is’nt a player who has not been in there without playing hurt.

I like to know if Cutler the quitter was out on the town Sunday night with his entourage. He love’s to be seen at the top Chi-town joints primping and preening.

Hainey got lucky. The Pack laid off on D. Remember Hainey did throw the winning touchdown for the Packers, right to
fat but Raji who waltzed in 15 yrs for the TD.
he threw a really bad over the middle pass for an INT to end the Bear final drive. 3INT’s and an intentional grounding to boot. That’s from inexperience.

If Cutler stayed in during the second half I’m sure the Bears would have won. The Pack was through by 3rd quarter.
They failed on every 3rd down except for a penalty gift.
Rogers really looked bad.
