The funniest thing about this whole affair is that the Obama's invited Jackie Chan....
The worst thing...Sasha's entire class/school (151 students) each held both an American and a Chinese flag.
Since when do we wave for other countries...particularly communist countries.

She wore an oil stained black and white number when she visited the Gulf last year.

Looks like she just found some left over fabric and wrapped herself in it.

LA TIMES: Michelle Obama's Alexander McQueen gown might not have been politically correct Oscar de la Renta is fretting over the red and black Alexander McQueen gown by McQueen creative director Sarah Burton Michelle Obama wore for President Hu Jintao's dinner. But it should have been made by an American or Chinese designer, not a Brit, de la Renta says. Who knew fashion was so political?

OH that is genius and so was the

I say she looks pretty damn good for someone who doesn’t have a ton of natural beauty. She has too many teeth for her mouth and her body is well....she does the best she can with it apparently.
The dress plays up the color of her skin and someone managed to get her hair to look good (which must be a real challenge) as well as her makeup. She has the advantage of being tall.
Just being fair, IMHO.

la Renta is probably right on....We all know how much attention the Obama’s pay to protocol.

That hair is one big wig...

Actually, I think the dress is flattering. The asymetrical shoulder treatment minimizes her broad shoulders, and the waist/skirt minimizes her hips. Also, her hairdo is very flattering.
Okay--I've said something nice about her. She owes me--LOL!

Actually I think she looks nice! The neckline of the dress is perfect for her broad shoulders, and the cut is lovely for a formal occasion. Don’t know that I like the design of the fabric much, and the red could have been toned down, and more on the violet side, rather than the orange; the color is wearing HER, rather than the other way around. Overall, though, it looks pretty good, and is appropriate for the occasion.

If we all had an entire staff dedicated to focusing on your looks, we all look lovely too. Just take a look at RuPaul, make up, a good wig, nice dress, padding, works like magic.

In all fairness, I think she looks good here. It’s a cool dress, and for once they’ve done something non-helmet like with her hair, and those legs are covered up. I don’t like anything about her, but I’m not going to say she looks ugly here just because I don’t like her.

Good heavens! The First Wookie in a full length dress that looks like it used to be a drape for a window. How bloody stylish can you get? Of the 21-23 folks on Wookie’s staff, don't any of them know how to dress her? Her taste in clothes is abominable.
