Two people are facing criminal charges after a party game gone wrong ended in a mans death.
Authorities said Jimmy Mounts, 27, of Romeoville, was at a garage party in the 2000 block of Waterford in Crest Hill Sept. 25 when he starting offering other guests $5 if they could take a punch from 21-year-old Tiffany Startz, of Joliet.
John A. Powell, 25, who was 5-foot-8 and weighed 140 pounds, took Mounts wager and stood before the 5-foot-5, 142-pound Startz, police said.
Witnesses told police Startz swung and hit Powell once in the face. He collected his money from Mounts and continued talking and interacting with others for a few minutes before he collapsed, police said.
He was rushed to Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room at 9:47 p.m.
Will County Coroner Patrick ONeil said Powell died of a brain hemorrhage caused by blunt-force trauma. Medical reports indicate a vein in Powells neck opened up when his head snapped back and led to the brain injury.
Initially there were conflicting reports from the witnesses about what had happened, Crest Hill Police Chief Dwayne Wilkerson said. But further investigation the night of the party found out about the bet.
Powell was employed by E.H. Lynn Industries. A rapper and recording artist, he was known as Fatboy with the group Krazy Killas.

Tiffany Startz and Jimmy Mounts
I doubt if there's $5.00 in the estate to begin with.
The coroner needs to change his report. The man died of terminal stupidity.
Thats bad, real bad. lol

Stupid is as stupid does! What a sick tragedy which brought one death and will ruin the lives of several people.
“Stupidity cannot be cured with money, or through education, or by legislation. Stupidity is not a sin, the victim can’t help being stupid. But stupidity is the only universal capital crime; the sentence is death, there is no appeal, and execution is carried out automatically and without pity.”
I have a fondness for the determination of "Death by Misadventure", myself.
So in Tiffany’s case, it’s not I would hit it, but she would hit me!
Where is that quote from? It’s perfect.
I heard about a guy who saw a broken-down car on a jack alongside the highway and stopped to steal the catalytic converter. His passenger later reported this after the car was struck from behind by another car killing the thief.
:garage party”: translation: totally s-faced one and all. there is your root cause my friends. demon rum.
“Five bucks, and she hits like a girl!”
It is perfect!

Drown while swimming in the shallow end.
Which is more ironic, a 5’8”, 140 lb rapper with a stage name “fatboy” or a member of a group called “Krazy Killas” dying from a single punch from a girl.
That was definitely a case of stupid being painful...
Contradiction in terms.
“when he starting offering other guests”
...does anyone proof read anymore?
Mounts looks like some of the idiots I ran with in HS before my parents sent me to Military Acadamy to straighten me out. Which it did.
He’s the one everyone is scared of and don’t like. When he arrives everyone tries to be his friend and to be tough because he’s going to do something dangerous and stupid to get attention and he’s only going to pick on the weak and quite. They laugh at his jokes. He gives “atomic wedgies” freely, painful “titty twisters” and farts a lot.
