NEW YORK (CBS) Former New York Jets sideline reporter Jenn Sterger, who accused veteran NFL quarterback Brett Favre of sending her sexually explicit messages, secretly met with the NFL commissioner less than two weeks before Favre was hit with a $50,000 for not cooperating with the league's investigation, according to a report.
In a case which she described as "David vs. Goliath," Sterger told Commissioner Roger Goodell that he was "delusional" if he believed the accusations against Favre were "isolated," her lawyer Joesph Conway told The New York Post.
In October, Gawker sports blog DeadSpin released voice mails and sent lewd photos they say Favre sent to Sterger when they both were employed by the New York Jets in 2008.
During the meeting Sterger told Goodell that she didn't come forward with her story earlier because she felt "the results would have been the same," reports the Post. Goodell reportedly claimed he wasn't in a battle against Sterger but said he needed "answers," to which Sterger replied, "I gave you answers over a month ago!" reports the paper.
Favre, 41, was ultimately punished not for the alleged text and phone messages, but for not cooperating with the league's investigation. Sports Illustrated's Peter King said the league ultimately decided not to suspend Favre because it couldn't prove the photos - some of which included pictures of a penis - were from Favre, or were even of Favre.
On Tuesday, two former massage therapists for the Jets, Christina Scavo and Shannon O'Toole, filed a lawsuit against Favre and the Jets claiming they too were victims of sexual harassment.
The harassment suit claims Favre sought to have group sex with Scavo and an unnamed third therapist.
So far, Favre and the NFL have said nothing about the lawsuit.
So did the commish show his junk?
Thumbs up to that!!!!!!!!
Did you see her pics? She has had more operations on her chest than Brett has had on his arm.
I cannot tell you how absolutely hilarious, given the article’s context, your comment is.
Brett appears to be in complete agreement with you.
Earlier was a post that had a photo of her with Brett’s wife when she was younger side by side. They look almost like twins.
What a racket these gals have going. Sexual harassment is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of.
It’s harassment only when she isn’t interested......
In a related story, Jamal Wilker, an employee at the Pay-Less shoestore in Teterboro, New Jersey is meeting with the NFL commissioner’s office regarding unwanted video shots of a 50-something wife with wrinkly feet, who is married to a member of the New York Jets coaching staff.
Did he whip it out?
She looks like an Avatar cartoon character.
Or when he isn’t interested, or when he doesn’t offer enough money...
Slick Willie agrees with you.
Without a doubt, NOT GUILTY.
Does that make Favre Not Guilty as well?
Jenn Sterger was hired because a crowd camera noticed her skimpy attire and voluptuous breasts. In no way could she be confused as a journalist of any type. As far as I am concerned, she is an attention wh*** and just a plain wh***.
EXACTLY!!!!!....
Fake boobs, fake teeth....
What does anyone think you get when you mix a bunch of hot boddied babes around a bunch of testosterone, HGH and roided up men? And some of these babes are there to provide "massage therapy" the team? Yea, that's smart NFL. If they don't want very rich men that are playing a kids game hitting on babes they need to clone Helen Thomas and use her instead of hot boddied babes.
Look at the pics of all these gals. Big fake boobs and whatnot. They are not little virgins, they all know what these football guys are like.
A man hits on a woman using the latest technology! It is indeed the end of the world! LOL! And guess what? I don't care. because I know what is really happening here. Someone wants a payday! And I bet these gals get their money.
I say, stop having females, (or at least hire code pink types) in the trenches of the sports arenas to avoid these kind of problems.....I have never been a fan of female sports commentators anyway, they seem to ask really stupid questions....
BTW I am a chick so please do not accuse me of being sexist....
