This sentence always cracks me up for its foppishness.

“sharing whiskey with Gramps out of an emptied jelly jar” What happened to the bottle or glasses? Did the whiskey suddenly appear in the jelly jar? Was he too cheap that he was afraid his friend would down the whole bottle in one swig? This sounds totally taken out of some Grapes of Wrath storyline, with two bums sippin’ moonshine out of a discarded jar they found in some railroad hobo jungle. What a load of crap, but nothing new from the liar in chief.
