They say one man's trash is another man's treasure. The same could be said about food: one man's nightmare may just be another man's delicacy. From cow's tongue and pig's snout to chicken's feet, from fried worms and frog's legs to sautéed snails, the list of weird stuff we eat is endless.

Kimchi (김치; pronounced /ˈkɪmtʃɪ/, Korean pronunciation: [kimtɕʰi]), also spelled gimchi, kimchee, or kim chee, is a traditional fermented Korean dish, made of vegetables with varied seasonings. Kimchi may also refer to unfermented vegetable dishes.[1][2][3] There are hundreds of varieties of kimchi, made with a main vegetable ingredient such as napa cabbage, radish, green onion or cucumber.[4] Kimchi is the most common banchan, or side dish, in Korean cuisine. Kimchi is also a main ingredient for many popular Korean dishes such as kimchi stew

LOL. OK if you say so but I’m still not going to get past the smell. My wife uses a heavy meat cleaver, hiting the divisions in the shell. It comes apart pretty cleanly for her. I’ll stick with the jack fruit which has a spiked shell as well but not such pronounced divisions. It tastes great too.

Yeah, if it does not kill the locals, how bad can it be?

The thing is, this stuff has killed a lot of the locals. The germ theory of disease still isn't common knowledge in much of the world.

Nothing strange about kimchee, its wonderful, eat as a side dish. Good kimchee is amazing.

Want strange? Try tripas.

No thanks, I don’t eat beef or pork, especially the veins and entrails.

Every durian has a seam that you need to find and cut along the seam. When durian is ripe, it falls from the tree. They string nets under the trees to catch the fruit. Its never been grown in the continental USA, too hard, same with rambutans and mangosteen. I plan to attempt to grow hawaiian papaya later this year, it can be done, but its tough, you need male and female fruit.

>>Oh man, you throw a raw quail egg on top of that uni, and I’m in!

Nah, go snorkeling off Wakayama, grab one of those suckers in a net, knock all the spines off, crack it in half, grab the orange parts and dip it in the ocean.

Then repeat 10X - salt water makes a great garnish.

Kiviak is a traditional Christmas dish from Greenland. I have to say I did not find much info about it. It seems to consists of whole small auks birds which are put in a greasy seal skin and buried in the permafrost, under a flat stone, for seven months, then dug up around Christmas. Then they bite the heads off and squeeze out the tart guts, which are slightly toxic...
