Lavender Fields
Photograph by Gerd Ludwig
Purple tints land and sky as night falls over lavender fields at Tasmania's famed Bridestowe Estate. The plantation is one of the largest lavender farms in the world.

Looks like Nurnberg, Germany Strasbourg (to use the French spelling). A most beautiful town when the lighting is right.

Real estate prices being what they are, you don't have to actually move here--just buy a second home. That's what we're doing, since there's no way we'll be able to sell our home in Lansing.
Unbelievable how cheap houses are right now. I'm looking for something riverside or near a lake, just to get out of the capitol on the weekends.

I think the freestate project crowd would be more effective if they moved here rather than NH. Possibly. My only reluctances would be:
- February
- Hot humid summers
But I've been in Seattle so long I am completely spoiled on both accounts: do I trade Seattle's dark gloomy depressing winters for "February" which is at least bright? and accept a whole lot more than a dozen or less mosquitos every summer?

Okay. It is a spitting image of the nature trail in OR that we used to take our kids through. In any case, you are a very good photographer. Thanks for the great shots.
