WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Volusia County authorities want to make it clear that 911 is for emergencies only.
Two people were arrested on Sunday for making calls that the Sheriff's Office said weren't quite of an emergency nature. The two calls were not related. Authorities said 44-year-old Cynthia Colson, of Deltona, called 911 several times after she wasn't satisfied with the length of her nails after a manicure.
Deputies said Colson called 911 at least four times: twice after her original 911 call asking when deputies would arrive and a fourth time when the deputy was at the store trying to settle the dispute over payment.
Colston got in a fight with the nail technician and was slightly hurt, the Sheriff's Office said.
The deputy then arrested Colston.
Lawrence Gauthier, 61, was also arrested on Sunday.
Deputies said Gauthier, who goes by Gator, has a history of using 911 as if it was his personal request hotline.
The Sheriff's Office said Gauthier has called them 16 times since November requesting business cards and checking up on deputies.

There’s only so much a manicurist can do.
“Gauthier, who goes by Gator...”
Looking at his pic, I have absolutely no trouble believing that.
Her nails are the least of her problems. She should forget about wasting her money on beauty products and spend some on a brain. Butt ugly and ignorant is no way to go through life. She has the face of a tarantula.
Don’t forget, all kinds of losers migrate to FL unfortunately.
Last election we did turn 2/3 of the state gov’t red though.
I’m thinking PetSmart. For both.
Is that the guy who also wanted all the news agencies arrested?
That woman is just guilty as hell.
“Dont forget, all kinds of losers migrate to FL unfortunately.”
Have you seen Waikiki/Honolulu lately?
You couldn’t BUY living on the beach there for all the money in the world. But show up with your shopping cart, sleeping bag, and tarp, and you can live on the beach in paradise for free. After all, we wouldn’t want to make them “feel bad” about their “misfortune”...
Something is seriously wrong when we cede the most beautiful real estate in the world to parasites.
Ugh.
