Sam was a really cool guy. I met him in Houston awhile before he got famous. In a bar fight. Lol! Sam pissed off my best friend from the stage and they got in to it. Drunk idiots. There was a whole lot of rolling on the floor and missed punches. nobody was hurt. We all made up and partied with him several times after that.
The funniest thing I ever saw Sam do was once when he got kicked out of the club for doing something he did while drunk. I never did find out what it was. Sam went across the street from the club and climbed up a sign in front of a convenience store. He was yelling about how the club owners had "crucified him" and then pretended he was being crucified on the sign using some long scarves he had used to kind of tie himself up. Sam stood up there for awhile doing various Jesus jokes and screaming at the Arab store clerks that had come outside until he got thirsty again.
He had a vary sharp mind, especially dealing with hecklers. Too bad he is gone.
“It was easier in the old days - just have your brothers go over and break his legs for despoiling her virtue.”
Here, you’d better break an arm, too - you have no idea how despoiled she is. /h
And when he learned about those expenses incurred without his consent, he decided that she could not be trusted with money, so he called the wedding off.
Maybe it is true, maybe not, but unless she can prove otherwise it sounds like a great defense to this non-lawyer.

Wow! And a happy one to you, too!
I've tried walking thru a field of moo moo. It's like navigating a mine field.
Agree. She shouldn’t have bet more than she could lose.
Makes me wonder if she was going into debt to pay for “their” wedding.
Thanks for correcting me, meester cunningham. I presheate it.
I believe John Denver wrote a song with that title (recasting the subject to the second person).

She got the ring.... then proceeded to overspend the collateral value.
The groom is obligated for the value of the ring.....the rest is on her.
