My son is getting married the weekend of Valentine's Day. He and is wife to be have not yet decided on a honeymoon location. Travel agents are steering them into one of those all inclusive, security fenced in places in Aruba or Cancun etc. I suggested a Cruise, but my son, a plumber and avid golfer, I think would probably go nuts after a couple days without doing something physical. My brother suggest Maui. Staying in San Francisco a day and then flying to there. I say anywhere but Mexico. The drug wars, etc have spilled into places like Alcapulco...so I'd say it would be crazy to go there.
I respect and look forward to the comments here.
Go to Mallorca...:)
Great place! (That is where I took my wife on our honeymoon...I had been there a bunch of times in the Navy)
1. They should be able to figure it out for themselves, but...
2. Stay in the US. Hawaii could be nice. Or how about somewhere like Colorado where they could do some skiing or hiking? Ditto for the Northeast (Vermont, NH, Maine). If they like the sun, maybe Arizona or New Mexico or South Carolina. If they like dogsledding, how about northern Minnesota or Alaska.
3. I agree, stay away from sunny foreign tourist destinations and also cruises.
Julian Inn Honeymoon House is Julian, CA. close to San Diego!

I would think a cruise would be better for a honeymoon, especially on a smaller more luxury minded vessel in a climate where people would rather stay inside anyway, like an Alaskan Inside passage Cruise.
My second choice would be a stay at the most expensive suite at Disneyworld.
Tell you son to leave the golf clubs at home for the honeymoon.
Most of the vacations mentioned on this thread are nice vacations. Alaska will give them adventure.
And hot tubs are frequently fired up during snow storms in Anchorage.
Paris. Last chance before the Mooselimbs wreck it...
I agree. I only went there once, but I have some friends who are rock hounds and go every year. That’s not far from all kinds of nice places. STONE!!!! Loud as I can yell.
Maui is fun.
The water is beautiful. There are places you can hike up into the rain forests which is whay I really enjoyed.
Of course for a honeymoon, it really doesn’t matter that much.
“my son, a plumber and avid golfer, I think would probably go nuts after a couple days without doing something physical.”
Ummm..IT’S A HONEYMOON for crying out loud! And...STAY OUT OF IT.
Alaska on a cruise.
I would suggest renting an RV (suped up of course) and traveling our beautiful country. We have so much here to see AND it will put their hard earned dollars back where they belong....and they get to meet many great Americans along the way.
Just stay away from the icky blue states. No reason to give them 1 damn dime!
If you paid me a million dollars, I still wouldn’t go on a cruise. :-) To each his/her own.
Perhaps they asked for his advise.
Driving a suped-up RV cross country just might do the trick!

We loved Normandy. The history is stupendous. It is cheap out there, being rural. Away from the crowds. We spent a week there, exploring the DDay history, and could have stayed longer. Plus, the Romans were there.
Rome is also top on our list. History, Christianity, old Roman ruins.
I would not go near any place in Mexico these days; I used to live in DF and have traveled there a lot. But not recently.
Arlington Texas where they can spend all their free time visiting the Pro-Bowlers Hall of Fame. Tell them to stay at a Motel 6 where they’ll leave the light on for them........
