Just wondering if anyone else out there is spending the evening alone. Not necessarily a bad thing. I'm sipping a cappuccino and taking in "A Christmas Story" in the old man cave. I'll be with family tomorrow, but as of tonight, it's my faithful Boxer and me. And Ralphie.
According to my theory, you must have needed the friend at the time!
;-)
Check your home page.
You can sleep.. we won’t let the clowns eat you.
We’ll eat your clowns for breakfast!
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.
I wish that were true, Sal. "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, I'm told, and told again.
Clichés, received wisdom, bromides. And I've seen, time and time again,in myself, in others, the fragility of human hearts, only realizing when the disaster hit me, how weak I am in the end, and not growing any stronger.
---------
'It is in the broken places that we are strong'.
Last night when I read that I was awe-strucken and humiliated by the perfect strength the Lord gives us. I wrote it down, to remember forever, it should have been in the book of Proverbs.
It is in the broken places that we are strong.
What does it mean “in the broken places”?
It means where we were hurt, broken by others, we reflect on what happened to us, and vow never to let it happen to anybody we love, let alone ourselves.
It means we pondered our injuries, and defend against it before it happens again.
I’m going to go search who originally said it and thank him or her.... this is the strongest article of faith I’ve ever heard spoken.
Merry Christmas my friend!
“who originally said it”
That was me, tex. I probably picked it up - or a version of it - somewhere, slogging through my own personal tropical wilderness.
No thanks necessary, but I do appreciate the thought. I was being more honest than usual and was a bit put out that someone would think me cliched. I am anything but...me and Sam Kenison.
That’s an original sentiment that no written word has observed, in any religion or philosophy, so far.
It is in the broken places that we are strong.
What an amazing explanation of Christianity, and the Humility that makes following him a Joy.
Thank you, again.....
Hey, anytime.
Merry Christmas! Stay toasty!
You know the legend of the scorpio(n) and the frog.
Also, whenever ‘two join together in my name!’
Everybody sleep tight, love you all.
You crack me up. LOL
Have you *seen* my clowns?

Don’t sing me lullabies
I won’t close my eyes,
I can’t close my eyes
It’s true,
I’m doomed
‘til dawn
shines through
Got too many things to do
Got friends to see,
I can’t miss a thing
It’s true,
I’m through
I’m screwed,
unglued
I won’t close my eyes, I can’t close my eyes,
I never close my eyes
You see, they’re always there with funny hair,
Oh, I’m so scared
It happens to me every night
Can’t sleep, the clowns will eat me
They always want to take a bite
Can’t sleep, the clowns will eat me
And if you think this isn’t real
I’ll show you wounds that never heal
To them I’m just a happy meal
Can’t sleep, the clowns will eat me
Make the coffee black as night
Help me through the night
I know their appetite for me
I’m meat
but I’m sweet
as can be
And if I do too much booze
I begin to snooze
I hear the big old floppy shoes
It’s true,
I’m stew,
unchewed
I won’t close my eyes, I can’t close my eyes,
I never close my eyes
See, they’re always there with that funny hair,
Oh, I’m so scared
It happens to me every night
Can’t sleep, the clowns will eat me
They always want to take a bite
Can’t sleep, the clowns will eat me
And if you think this isn’t real
I’ll show you wounds that never heal
To them I’m just a happy meal
Can’t sleep, the clowns will eat me

If you come down to Texas we will blow the clowns up.
“It means where we were hurt, broken by others, we reflect on what happened to us, and vow never to let it happen to anybody we love, let alone ourselves.”
I wound up rescuing animals and being a psycho-b*tch to people hurting kids.
A bunch of bikers formed “BACA” [bikers against child abuse] and they escort the witness children to the trials, sit with them and generally form a huge, scary, glowering circle of protection around the children so that they are not afraid to testify against their abusers.
The kids *know* they will ~never~ have to fear any “unaddressed” reprisals from their perps.
Fierce, dark guardian angels in leather and studs watch over those kids.
I wish there was a chapter near here.
Hubby and I would join it in a heart beat....and relish it like few people could truly understand.
[he’s ~my~ dark guardian angel...a hairy, scary saint given to me by God and he stands by me when I get “freaky” from the flashbacks]
When your only tool is C4, every problem looks like a tree stump.
Well hush my mouth.
I found a chapter about 40 miles away.

Gonna call them Monday and see about getting in.
This makes my day....:)
Well, you're already pretty darn silly; but we'll hug ya anyhow!
Concerning what I'd like to do, beating the perp bloody would be mild.
