Just wondering if anyone else out there is spending the evening alone. Not necessarily a bad thing. I'm sipping a cappuccino and taking in "A Christmas Story" in the old man cave. I'll be with family tomorrow, but as of tonight, it's my faithful Boxer and me. And Ralphie.
I was alone for Thanksgiving. I’m thankful that my daughters who are both in the Navy are able to be home with me for this Christmas Eve.
I absolutely understand. This is so painful. All you can do is never let up...never stop making the kids realize how much you love them and how you ALWAYS wish you could be with them.
I have some music on my iPad. Listening to Merry Texas Christmas you all. Love it
Thank you. A tip of fine California port your way. Merry Christmas, my FRiend.
Life has gotten a lot better since I learned to let go of grudges and anger. People who knew me back when say I’m a totally different person.
Welcome to Afghanistan
We had a hummingbird that used to guard the backyard w/the dogs. When the dogs barked, he’d face the direction the dogs pointed at and screamed his beautiful little head off. He thought a coworker was a flower and kept trying to land on her head. Blessings galore!
You have California port?
There used to be a 1996 Monterey area port that I really liked. I talked a guy into several bottles, too, and some schlemeal in an airport up and stole them. How, I don’t know, but I thought that was pretty low.
Stay safe.

Merry Christmas to everyone on FR! My husband & I are finally home after delivering gifts to all. Our 7 cats, 2 dogs and my husband are all napping right now while I’m listening to Christmas music & drinking a rum and coke.
I hope everyone is at peace and remembering the “reason for the season”. Christ is born!
Well said and worth a repeat.
I was at Ft. Lewis in ‘75-’76. :-) Enlisted. 54th Med Det (Hel Amb). Then-husband was in 9th Avn Btn. We were a couple of avionics mechanics. I love that place.
Going to Bevmo on Sunday to try one. Thanks!
God Bless.
Stay Safe.
Merry Christmas to you!
All of our military are in our prayers..always.
Up from Honduras taking care of some important business matters and visiting family. But they’re all at church now (I went earlier), so, I’m alone at the moment.
Loneliest Christmas Eve I ever spent was about 15 years ago when I was still a drunk. Couldn’t even afford a washing machine, so I went to the laundromat. Watching my clothes go through the cycle, i wrote a poem: “It’s Christmas Eve in the Laundromat, And the World Keeps Spinning Round.”
Been sober for nine years. God has answered all of my prayer and fulfilled my dreams so far. Now, I’m working on a whole new set of dreams — and praying them through to fruition.
Life is good. And getting better. Because He’s the reason for the Season.
I am totally intimidated by a certain hummingbird that deigns to share his territory with me. Seriously. Moose, eagle, bear, they don’t bother me, but this little bugger has my number bigtime. I’m thinking of installing an antiaircraft battery...
I will be with my wife and kids tomorrow. Had to be on the road and alone tonight.
Yum! I’m cooking the same thing tomorrow.
