Just wondering if anyone else out there is spending the evening alone. Not necessarily a bad thing. I'm sipping a cappuccino and taking in "A Christmas Story" in the old man cave. I'll be with family tomorrow, but as of tonight, it's my faithful Boxer and me. And Ralphie.
Right here with you!
Just me sitting here in Houston Freeping, playing Call of Duty 2 MW, watching Jingle All The Way wih the Guvernator.
Kids and their dad are visiting ex-in laws, and it is so worth it to be able to say EX in laws!
I won’t be, I’m headed off to mass.
Fiancee and her family, can’t afford the drive, but oh well. I was looking forward to us spending our first Christmas together.
Sucks, but I’m happy to be here otherwise.
Sounds like a nice peacefull Christmas Eve....If you have family coming tommorow consider the Calm before the Storm!! LOL Anyways have a Merry Christmas....
I sympathize, and I know it must be rough. But, it could be worse. My wife and I are going through a divorce. Our girls are with her tonight, and I will have them tomorrow afternoon. This is the second year of that. Looks like we will do this every year. Not feeling sorry for myself, though. Tomorrow it’s wall to wall family: mom, stepfather, my sister and her family AND my girls.
hehehe, too true. I had some cheesy mashed potatos for dinner.
Yes, Bandit the dog and I are watching “The Bishop’s Wife”.
Well, you beat me on price...Mine is about three bucks, but it is a full ltr.
Carlo Rossi is the most common wine here in the Philippines,
but the one ltr. wine in a box from Spain or South America
is much cheaper and better. It is also a dream to carry.
I can easily carry 12 ltrs in two plastic bags.
1.5 ltr. Carlo Rossi, in glass, cost 9 bucks!!
I do have a house filled with God's precious creatures, fin, fur and feather... and then there's FR :-)
I'm all excited about Jesus' birth. More this year than ever before.
Merry Christmas!
My boxer is licking my elbow as I type this.
Cheers amigo
I’m alone but prepared some food for tomorrow’s family gathering. Decided to visit the local watering hole for a couple Christmas Ales from Great Lakes Brewery, aka “Liquid Crack”. Merry Christmas all!
You know what made me really smile earlier this evening??
Driving down main street though a very liberal little Maine town [near the Capital] where they hold their own mardi gras, a street of eaterie-pubs, coffee houses etc. I notice an empty manger, the Nativity; but of course the Baby Jesus has not been born yet. Fresh hay is carpeting the Nativity. Drive back by a few hours later and families have gathered with their children where [real woolie]sheep have now appeared around the manger. If this could happen in a little Maine town, more liberal than most. If it can happen there, it can happen anywhere!!!
Made my night!!!
This is the unreconstructed Leftist branch of the family, correct?
A week ago last Monday my old boss (he closed his doors in July) asked me to come down and help him get some equipment ready for some potential buyers. Another guy came in to look at some of it and I was talking to him. I had asked him for a job in August. But he was closing his doors, too. Now his BIL is reopening that shop. Anyways, he asked me about a guy I had worked with. Said he had come in looking for a job and they were going to hire him, but didn’t have his phone number. Did I by chance know it? I said no, but I REALLY NEED A JOB. He said APPLY. I practically beat him back to his shop for an application. He called me Wednesday and told me to come in for the pre-employment drug screen and then on Friday to tell me to be at work at 6 a.m. this past Monday. I’m very excited and relieved. I was extremely tense and concerned. My 26 weeks of unemployment are up.
It helps me to remember the real reason for Christmas. The Savior of the world was born, came to bear our sins upon a cross.
If we have Jesus Christ living in our hearts by His Spirit, we have everything!
Merry Christmas to all—
“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
Matthew 1:21
Am I the only one having egg nog?
Congrats!
Glad to hear you’ve found work. I’m still working on mine. I had hoped to get a cheque but it looks like it won’t come until just before new years.
But they're still not gettin' my Cab. Merry Christmas to you! ;-)
