Just Lost a Little of My Christmas Cheer (Vanity)

Posted on 12/23/2010 11:22:20 PM PST by garandgal

I spend hours on FR Daily, and post replies occasionally, but this is my first actual post.

What would finally spur me to post a thread, you ask? Well, here we are on the "Eve" of Christmas Eve, in a nicer suburb in Iowa...looking forward to the Holiday.

I just went to let the dog out for the final time, and but what to my wondering eyes did appear: at some point in the last hour some piece of human debris destroyed our Christmas display.

My husband takes great pride in his little display (he loves Christmas...I just called him "Martha Stewart" earlier today if that gives you any idea). He purchased a lighted sleigh, reindeer, and tree; and some snowflakes to line our corner lot. It was just beautiful & tasteful...all in white.

These cretins did not steal our items; they were maliciously destroyed and the parts left strewn about the yard. What a bunch of creeps! Seriously, who would do something like that??

Update as I was typing this: What I did not tell you is that he decided to go "find" them...and he did. Running back to their vehicle after having finished off someone else's lights.

He yelled at them to stop and got a "F-You old man!"

We called the police, and the hubby is currently attempting to cobble back together his display. Since the perps were very obviously not from around these parts (he saw them), I'm thinking about making this a prayer request thread as well...LOL!

And, now that I've made my first actual post, I will try to make it more newsworthy next time.

We are in a culture war, you aren’t the only ones facing various assaults. Each one of us has to “man up” and fight back, not so much for ourselves but for the kids. So the silver lining is that you should now be invigorated to join the fight with all the rest of us. And have a Merry Christmas despite the rif raf.

Vandalism is something I’ve never understood and never will.

Please don’t allow this to ruin your Christmas and I hope your Hubby can make things look mostly good again.

God bless you and your family.

Sorry about what happened to you.

But your husband can take pride that he did run after the vandals, hopefully the police got them and he prevented them from destroying other people’s Christmas decoration and saved the Christmas spirit.

Have a blessed Christmas!

I am So Sorry!!! There are the Barbarians at the Gate, you know. They can’t destroy the faith in our heart, however they may try.

The Peace of Christ to you. Have a blessed Christmas!

I told him exactly that! We do not have little kids, but can you imagine having to explain how the sleigh and reindeer were destroyed?? What mean people to do that on Christmas Eve.

Don't let it ruin your Christmas. As soon as the hubby gets
back, relax and give thanks that someone raised both of you
correctly. I used to get so mad at things like this it made
me shake. Now I tell myself that that only harms me. They
destroyed property, don't let them hurt you.

P.S. I'm not sure I'd want anyone who goes by “garandgal”
mad at me!

Kids.

Kids are remorseless and cruel.

I keep checking out the window...mostly to make sure he hasn't been beaten down in the yard. Last I checked the sleigh was back up, and reindeer looked like it was missing two legs. Knowing him, we will have a new reindeer in the morning.

I suggest you pray for the young men who defaced your property. Apparently they don't know the true meaning of Christmas.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. John 3;16

Jesus Christ was born to be the Savior of the world.

In my youth always left Christmas items alone..there was something sacred about them..watermelon patches and peach trees were another matter.

They were my crimes and I dared not bring them home....it is a different world.

Yesterdays “boys will be boys” no longer applies.

Take solace to know we care about you and your husband.

If you need any assistance please let us know.

Merry Christmas.

PS

I'd love to hear about your dog's name. I get it.

Geeze. SO sorry that you guys had Birthday party crashers.

Something wierd in the air?

Had some guy gunning his truck lights off/on un the hill our here in the sticks. Drunk and lost maybe?

I got up to see who was in the driveway, let the dogs out the back door to go do there job and checked the fire arm.

Never know and we don’t get stray humans around here.

He looked right at me and then at the other window where I have a Police Officer cardboard standup right up against the window. (it always spooks people looks that real)

Now the dogs too have been just obnoxious and in/out too many times (deer or earthquake of shore coming).

Sigh Hope the Husband gets the work he originally invested back up to par what a bummer.

Well we will all have to Pray for each other to keep the bad vibes and up to no good humans at bay.

I usually pray for the property to be surround by an army of the Lord earthly angels a few times a year, now may need to feel in the holes on the property border as well as the Good Freepers.
