I was thinking about standing in line to see it tonight, but I just wanted to know if anyone had seen it and to read his or her opinion on it.
thank you
I live near JAX, and “127” Hours played briefly at one theater there and then disappeared. I wanted to see it, but I guess I’ve got to wait for video.
I also wanted to see “The King’s Speech,” but that apparently hasn’t even come to Florida and it doesn’t seem as if it will.
Folks who live in the South get discriminated against. Seriously. They will show things for (literally) 3 days and then take them away, or the closest place they will be showing them is in New York.
Bizarre.
udience was 83% liked it..FWIW
I heard they had to Photoshop a stud body on fatass Jeff Bridges in the movie....
Same as the old Tron...
With me it was Tron and Rampage.
I still haven’t seen the old TRON.
The trailer looks great, but alas I won't be seeing it. Why? Matt Damon is in it, with a Josh Brolin kicker. I know. It makes me petty and immature to hold their personal political rantings against them in their professional endeavors. But, I'm just a pr*ck that way.
or any book...
I suspect that like "Slumdog Millionaire" that will get a little wider release either during or immediately after award season in January or February. It hasn't been shown in but a handful of theaters, mostly in NY and LA.
"Folks who live in the South get discriminated against."
Yes, unless you live a one of the larger (and usually northern or Californian) cities, it's tough to see movies that don't get the wide release.
This reviewer didn’t HATE it...

In other words, faithful to the original.
I went to see it with some pals at the drive-in. One of the guys in the back seat decided to turn around and watch Saturday Night Fever (sans sound) because it was more interesting.
Spandex, black light, techno music and frisbee fights.
If you’re into one of those things, you’ll like it.
If you’re into all of those things, you’ll think it’s a classic.
I live in the “North South” (North Florida) and we get nothing here. Once upon a time, there used to be little theaters (known as “art houses”) that showed films that probably weren’t going to be box-office smashes, but those theaters disappeared years ago
My daughter and hubby want to see this movie. We even got out the old Tron so we could remember want the story was about.
Daughter can’t wait to see Bruce Boxliner on the screen. She grew up with Babylon 5 and loved Captain Sheridan.
I figure she will see him some in the beginning, but that will be it.
Is Tron even still in the computer??
We must be the same age or thereabouts lol
“With me it was Tron and Rampage.”
Did you ever get to play Discs of Tron? It came out in ‘84 I believe ... that was an excellent game. It was supposed to be the 5th level of “Tron”, but they spun it off into its own arcade game. There were two flavors of the cabinet ... one was a regular arcade upright ... the other was a nice, gigantic “environmental” cabinet you’d literally walk into.
Back in the day for me : Tempest, Star Wars, Defender, Robotron, and Excitebike :-). Pinball : Black Knight, Black Knight 2000, Earthshaker, Xenon, High Speed, and PinBot.
Word of warning ... the new Tron game on Xbox 360 and PS3 is rather lame ... wait for it to hit the $15 bargain bin. I thought that the online stuff would be fun, but it isn’t ... hell, they could have reskinned the old arcade games and made a better product.
So is 0bamababe Olivia Wilde
I never saw the original Tron, but the Wikipedia summary of it pretty much let me know I never missed much.
