When we published our first edition of Eat This, Not That: Worst Foods in America back in 2007, we made a lot of restaurant chains very unhappy. But we also made a lot of their attorneys really, really happy, as they soon began earning massive legal fees sending us saber-rattling correspondences on behalf of the food marketers they represented.
As 2010 draws to a close, it's time for another walk down the Hall of Restaurant Shame...

I *am* amused, though, that for all the histrionics fast food places have been subjected to for years, it's only now that the stuff served in chain restaurants is getting a second look.
Well, then—looks like Me-shell Obumbles has another job to do, in between bites of her lobster, that is...

My comments on the dishes/restaurants, btw:
PF Chang’s - Am I the only one who doesn’t care much for that place? I admit they use better-than-average ingredients, and the meals I’ve had there were well-prepared for a chain restaurant. But I don’t get the heavy westernization of the dishes. It’s like Chinese food for people who don’t really like Chinese food?
Baja Fresh - never heard of the place, but I have yet to find a chain restaurant that could serve Mexican food as good as the honest-to-goodness Mexicans who run the taco stands and trucks in my area. Molettes, freshly made tortillas for the chile verde tacos, and so on.
IHOP- I gotta admit, that country breakfast looks mighty good. Everything is better with gravy!
These pinheads would go into vapor lock and die just looking at the Travis from Grandma's K&I Diner in Albuquerque. A meat and bean burrito buried in fries. The pictured dish is a QUARTER Travis.
All of the items this snob picked as bad look tasty. The alternatives sounded like they came out of central plannings guide book.
A man wrote that article?
It sounds as if it was written by my 12 year old daughter! One word sentences, such as “Gross”, “Again!” and using the word “doo-doo”.
I first thought this was about the worst tasting food or worst value but they are talking about health. Why didn’t they just say that to start with.
BTW, the worst meal I ever had at a Restaurant was Po folks in Jackson Mississippi, maybe 20 years ago. Oddly enough the one in Dothan, Alabama was real good.
I can make fried rice as good or better than any Asian restaurant. The secret is ginger.
I’ve never had gravy at a fast food joint that’s any good. I think they use corn starch and certainly don’t use pork fat.
The comments at Yahoo! on this article are a hoot!

I can't imagine the guy that the dish was named for as he could finish a full Travis.
This might possibly be my favorite restaurant dish ever. I prefer my eggs scrambled and gravy on everything (except the pancakes).
Eat This Instead!
No thanks.
They closed all the Grandys in KC years ago, but I used to LOVE their "Chicken Fried Chicken" lunches!

Whenever I see one of these lists, I make a mental note to try as many as possible.
One of my favorite experiences was when my girlfriend and myself happened to see the list from years ago which had Outback Steakhouse’s bacon/cheese fries listed as the #1 worst appetizer in the country! We had just had that with out dinner that night! We high-fived each other and started shouting “We’re Number One! We’re Number One!”

Yum....still need to get there as I haven’t been in years. Did you ever try out Mary & Tito’s btw?
Eat a turkey omelette instead of the big country!? What planet is this dud from? IHOP all the way!!
Ah, home sweet home. The Airporter in Farmington had a shredded beef burrito that was to die for. I heard Sadie’s was never quite the same when they left the bowling alley—is that true?
