Need Serious Help.
12/1/10 | me

To make a long story short.... as a child, my brother saw a demon outside our window (back then you had to have the tv by a window because of heat generated). He saw this demon "dancing" around our window. He has been plagued w/ nothing but horror.

Now, in these days, he has over come his demons; however, his first born son has seen this demon, a few months ago, outside his window. His first born son described to him ( at first reluctant that he would not be believed) the same thing my brother saw as a child. My brother was stunned.

We need help. I truly believe in satan and his demons to be as real as we are. What can we do? Who do we turn to?

Some may see this as nonsense, but we are living this in real life. Can anyone help us or at least lead us to someone who can help?

I’d guess . . . from a lot of experience . . .

that you’d be exceedingly wise to learn some spiritual warfare as a genuine servant of Jesus The Christ.

Stuff like that does not forget that you were terrified.

Perhaps God has allowed you some space from such stuff for many years.

There’s no guarantee that will always be the case.

There’s a high probability that down the road, when you can least afford it, such a test will occur again only worse.

The Blood of Jesus, the Name of Jesus applied by folks in authentic relationship with Jesus . . . is powerful—the ONLY powerful remedy, imho.

Apologies for the very late follow up, but I’m on satellite internet and have very sporadic access. I agree on both points.

Take your time.

HOWEVER, GIVEN all the

flack I’ve taken from the arm-chair lay experts . . .

I’m greatly appreciative of another professional’s perspective. LOL.

My last reply on this. You do a dangerous act by encouraging the parents not too also seek medical attention by calling it a waste of money. That is a huge red flag for me. See a docor and see a preacher as well. GOD gave us both Doctors and Preachers. He can work through both and it may very well take both. It is not a sin to ask either for help. It might even save a life.

IF

There’s the least bit of a solid or even significantly warranted reason

to seek a medical consult,

BY ALL MEANS, DO SO!

I haven’t heard, read any evidence of such on this thread

YET.

Perhaps pops88;

would disagree with me.

You should know me by now what a high view I have of scripture. I believe it to be the actual word of God, perfect in every way. It is the power to bring about salvation. Unlike Jefferson who threw out Bible verses, I do not. But we are to be careful. People take one tiny verse of scripture and before you know it you have the Co-Remptrix of Mary or Peter as the Pope. You of all people know what that's like.

Scripture must be validated by other scripture. Do I believe in the gift of tongues? Yes, simply because it is talked about in many places. Do I believe that you can drink poison and not die? Well, I wouldn't try it. If this was a gift given to us by God, it would be listed elsewhere. Does it mean that God can't protect us against drinking poison? Of course not, God can do whatever He wants. Does this one verse give us a license to go off and drink Liquid Plumber? I would strongly recommend against it. If David had said it in his palsm that "Thou shall drink Liquid Plumber and not die." and Paul stated it once or twice in his letters, then I would believe it to be a true gift. One tiny verse that is in only a few manuscript is not enough to convince me that I should drink poison.

I think you know

that I’m not suggesting folks should fondle snakes or drink poison out of choice and foolishness.

Paul shipwrecked on the island demonstrated the truth of that verse.

I just know that God has confirmed those promises in those verses by His Spirit many times in my life and the lives of those I’ve walked close to.

Thanks for the pings. I don't keep any mailing list for that. I have added my prayers.

NoGrayZone, there are effective general strategies for resisting spiritual attacks in Charles Joseph Quadrupani, How to Love God and Keep His Commandments. This is a practical book about everyday spirituality, but it also applies to more dramatic spiritual struggles. One recurring theme is to remain calm in the face of spiritual crisis, rather than giving ammunition to the Enemy by reacting with fear or anxiety. I will quote one passage I have found helpful:

In temptations against faith. . .do not make great efforts. . .but simply turn a pleading glance towards God, without speaking even to this compassionate Friend concerning the thought that afflicts you, lest thereby you root the evil suggestion more firmly. Then, without disquieting yourself, engage at once in some exterior occupation or continue what you were doing. Make no answer to the tempter, but ignore him, just as though his assault had never occurred. In this way, while preserving your own peace of soul, you will cover your enemy with confusion. . .Let the enemy storm away; only be careful on your part to keep all the entrances well fastened, and finally he will grow weary; or if he does not, God will force him to raise the seige. . .Let Satan rage at the door; he may knock and stamp, and clamor and howl, and do his worst, but rest assured that he can never enter our souls but through the door of our consent. Let us only keep that closed tight and often look to see that it is well secured, and we need have no concern about the rest--there is no danger.

In short, don't be afraid: God is stronger, and will fight for you.

Thank you. I know there were people who stated “she disappeared” from the thread. It was late and I am not a late person.

I didn’t disappear. I’m just trying to speak with my brother and have been speaking with other FReepers in FReepmail.

Someone also stated I had another “crisis” a month ago. I did, my cat. Her name is Kitty and of course I went and self diagnosised her online and she had most of the CRF symptoms, which is why I posted the thread, for help and advise (same with this thread). I took her to the vet and she had a urinary as well as a kidney infection. The vet said if the white blood cells are no longer in her kidneys, then it would indicate the onset of kidney failure.

She seemed to improve the first few days on her antibiotics and last Thursday, instead of begging her to get better because i was not ready, I told her it was okay to go. She’s so tired and seems to have no more life in her. Ever since then, she has taken such a turn for the worse.

I took 1/2 day from work today because my cat (19 year old named Kitty) is dying. I think today or tomorrow will be her last. Wednesday is my usual day off, but I want to be with her when she goes.

According to some, a person cannot have more than 1 crisis at a time. Excuse me, but I do and I know I’m not the only one. I just thought it would be safe here on FR to ask for advise but I was wrong.

There have been so many people who were so helpful and I cannot thank them enough.

By the way, to the one who said I disappeared, I’m sorry. It was late and I can barely stay up past 10pm! I posted this thread, at a late time for me, because my brother just told me about it.

I know there are many Godly people here on FR who might be able to help and point us in the right direction (which I also found in my cats “crisis” thread).

The one’s who truly take this serious, I have been FReep mailing with. I can do nothing about my cat, but my brother and nephew I can.

We are working on it. He has 2 sons. I don’t know how evil works but it seems to follow through families. We need to put an end to it....now.

Sorry to hear about your cat. I went through the same thing with mine, but mine went suddenly in the middle of the night. I was blessed that I woke up a few seconds before and got a chance to say goodbye. It’s good you’re able to take a day off for that so you get a little time at the end. You’ll be in my prayers.

Yes, absolutely.

I'm reminded in scripture of the prophets of God who, when hungry threw some things they had gathered into a community pot. Much to their dismay, someone had mistakenly placed poison mushrooms in the pot. They quickly cried out and Elisha performed a miracle that saved the prophets.

I bring this episode up simply because this story is contrary to what we are told in Mark 16:16-17. Like Elisha knew, God may work to save the day. But like the aghast prophets knew-He may not. ;O)

I don’t understand your saying that. Please explain/elaborate.

Who said you disappeared? What post? Or you had another crisis earlier? I reckon I missed that post. Interesting thread though I’ll say that much for it.

Yes, w/ my cat. I thought she was in renal failure, she wasn’t. She had a urinary as well as a kidney infection.

She was on antibiotics for 2 weeks, seemed to be doing better after a few days, then went down hill from there.

She’s dying as we speak, I think she’s just shutting down. She’s 19. =(

Oh I don’t doubt that at all. I was just trying to see where someone said what you were talking about on the thread. I can’t find it. I’m just curious.
