There is nothing difficult about listening to a 4 year old child.
It also is not difficult for most people to put an observation reported by a 4 year old child in perspective.
Whether or not there are demons, no matter the best way to get rid of them, no matter whether the bible says they possess or appear ...
It is the height of irresponsibility to tell someone that you are sure what they have heard a FOUR YEAR OLD says he saw, actually happened.
We’re not talking a about a 14 year old, not an 8 year old, not even a 5 year old! A 4 year old is barely removed from crawling and babbling. It’s absurd on it’s face to conclude that a 4 year old definitely observed a demon dancing outside a window.
Nor are you doing the FOUR year old any favor by taking his statements as Gospel truth.
Now let’s hear all the defenses of why the testimony of a 4 year old child must be beieved. I can’t wait.
You family has been plagued with what?
Why do you say this thing is a demon? Has it done anything demonic besides scaring due to its unexpected physical presence and looks?
Since it was night time, it could be possible that some outdoor creature was attracted to the light inside the house. Like moths are attracted to light. Could it have been some wayward animal? A bat? Night shadows would make it appear different. Do you have curtains on the windows?
One year I had a flying squirrel hang out in my flower box at night. It would scratch at the window. At first I was scared till after many visits, I realized what it was. I didn't know they were in my area.
Ever notice gargoyles? They are scary and ugly. Why? to scare off evil. That's why they are on European churches. Beauty attracts, ugly detracts. My point is, maybe this scary thing outside the window was some type of protector, made its presence known because it had just done protecting the little one. Even in the Bible it says Lucifer is beautiful. If this thing outside the window was beautiful (yet dangerous) the little one may have gone towards it.
I'm not sure if now is the time to get any outside help till this experience reoccurs a few times and you have exhausted every way of getting rid of this thing. I figure, if it doesn't listen to you, why would it listen to a stranger with whom it has no bone to pick. Just Spiritually cleanse your house, anoint the doors and windows with oil and pray prayers of protection. Jesus gave us the power. Use it. Strengthen that power.
I have had a few scary experiences myself so I understand your situation. The Blood of Jesus worked every time.
Could go the Native American route and burn some sage, too. Can’t hurt; might help.
Sheesh.
1. I have every reasonable justification to trust that
A) NoGrayZone is a bright, honorable person . . .
AND
B) that his brother is also not an idiot.
C) I have every confidence they have not been clueless in considering what the 4 year old said and how he said it . . . what they asked and how they asked it.
Seems like your jumping to conclusions is tied more to your biases than the evidence.
BTW, I’ve known some 4 year olds who were pretty good at spiritual warfare in their own right.
God paid attention to their earnest child-like faith and prayers and acted accordingly.
OK, don’t be quiet. Make this all about you. Your ego. Your knowledge. Your spiritual authority. Your spotlight. Your basking in attention. Your communico/socio needs. Your knowledge of the Scripture. You, you, you, you, you.
In the meantime, we have a problem to solve which astonishingly DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU.
We’re trying to listen to a sparrow here. Not you.
It seems the demon couldn’t stop your brother from growing up, getting married, having a child — it seems like your brother is doing OK.
Please be sure to convey this to the child — the demon had no power of his Father and he shouldn’t allow it to have power over him.
Prayer keeps you safe.
I know some people believe in exorcism, but it can be dangerous, also it seems the demon is not IN the child — the child saw it OUTSIDE the window.
Just remind your brother and his child that the demon can parade outside the house all it wants to, but couldn’t and can’t harm them.
I seriously would also consider getting a dog, they can sense not just live people, but evil also.
Those are some calm and reasonable suggestions.
However . . .
they ASSUME, it seems to me,
that the adults AND the child involved
have 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000%
spiritual sensitivity and discernment.
I don’t assume that, at all.
Oh really?
Sigh.
To him who knows to do good and does it not, to him it is sin.
A brother has asked for help.
I choose to offer all the best help I can.
Feel free to ignore it totally. It’s not about you.
If I were talking to a child about this, I wouldn’t use the word “demon”. A four-year-old gets frightened enough by natural things, without scaring him with the supernatural. I would hope that the father “freaked out” about this privately and didn’t telegraph fear to the child. Consult with a priest or, better, a bishop. The Catholic Church knows how to deal with these situations.
We were raised Lutheran. However, there was this little spirit thing that would show itself to us, but not in the same house.
My brother saw this demon when we lived in the Bronx. We saw this little demon thing after we moved to Long Island. My sister, brother, cousin and I saw the damn thing.
Continue on, NGZ.
Do you know:
1. NGZ
2. His brother
3. The 4 year old?
Please answer each question. If not you have zero reasonable basis to make the statements you did about each of them.
And even if you know all 3 of them intimately, vouching for a 4 year old’s report is ridiculous on it’s face.
Further, I don’t believe 4 year olds wage “spiritual warfare”.
Sometimes I guess I am “possessed” by the urge to answer hysterical statements.
In that case, feel free to answer the questions for me.
Dialogue seems to be out of the question.
Is your brother a Christian?
If he his it is withing his power to chase the demon off. If he isn’t a Christian you need to have a long talk with him.
Maybe it’s an optics problem. Any shadow casting, light reflections, or other naturally occurring phenomenon? Do your brother and nephew suffer from migraines?
Prayers up regardless. Hopefully your nephew will keep the psychological upper hand.
Whatever have a good night. BTW if a 4 year old tells me you are a demon I will proceed to have you exorcised. I can assure you I am an intelligent, reasonable person and I will rely only on a 4 year old with impeccable credentials.
I feel sorry for folks who accept as facts, 3rd hand reports from 4 year old kids.
Evidently I’ve known some incredible 4 year olds compared to those in your network.
LOL.
INDEED.
You are right and that movie the Exorcist was based on a real case.
The father and son saw the same apparition decades apart outside two different houses in two different cities. It would seem unlikely that migraines or shadows/lighting would produce the same apparition. (IMHO)
Wasn’t that written AFTER the ascension and after Pentecost? Therefore, because the tense is future I took it to mean either the 2nd coming when Messiah rules the earth or after this earth is destroyed and we live with God in heaven/earth for eternity. Just my opinion since I don’t read Greek.
