Christmas Presents For Brat Grandkids
Self | 12/9/10 | Self

Posted on 12/09/2010 6:14:59 PM PST by Little Bill

Because of the General State of the Obamma Economy I agreed to herd my Grandkids, Sons Spawn, two day a week so my daughter in law could pick up some of the slack.

My Grandson is a prince among men, or boys, and is not a problem. My Grand Daughter is proving to be a snot, Brat, and is taking after her Bapci, my ex, for being wilfull, pig headed, and Lithuanian.

My son who had many of the above attributes when he was a child and needed a strong hand commands Respect for the same reason that he needed the strong hang.

I am looking for a solution for Brathood in the Yule Tide, as a mere Grandfather.

I feel sorry for this little girl, whose grandfather so obviously prefers her brother.

How about a pint of whiskey to help Grandpa be less cranky?

Um...A little harsh?...Of course, its nobodies business but yours. All I can suggest is; nothing electronic! Something she would have to take care of or face repercussions.

But not something electronic.

Good luck finding anywhwere to buy coal. The local Blacksmith's Association has the buy a rail car full and a time and find somewhere to store it.

or Zanex. Children can be difficult, if not disiplined by parents correctly, however a grandparent can make the difference in how they turn out. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is a must, and never TREAT one grandchild different than the other....it is a sure sign of an evil heart. I know you are just talking here, but be sure they never hear the difference of opinion.

Prisons are full of kids whose parents/grandparents never showed them how to act, live, or loved them unconditionally. In one survey the criminal justice system learned that most juvenile delinquents could not point to one person in their family, that they had a strong enough relationship with...that it would keep them from committing a crime. SAD, in a country that promotes freedom and a better way of life.

Being a brat might be the sign of an inner hurt or problem, and you may be the one who could find out what is bothering her....if you treat her right, and with respect. An encouraging and positive person can cause a child to turn around, and be happy with life.

I feel for my son, who is, if the normal trends of feminine looks continue, going to have a very lovely daughter with no manners, no poise, and acts, like many of the girls today, like a slut.

Find a project the two of you can do together, and then set an example of kindness, patience, gentleness, friendship, all the attributes you would like to see in your grand daughter.
You’ll create memories she will carry through life, and help shape her character.
Someday, you will be glad you did!

Tell your granddaughter you love her! That's what this is all about, not presents.

God Bless you.

Sounds like the perfect child to be asking for the “pretty little dolly”:

Personally I think the DIL should find a more suitable caregiver for the little ones. You are not qualified to care for small children.

Then I would suggest the judicious application of a wooden spoon to the posterior as needed to curb brattiness, but that has to be done consistently, on a daily(at least the days you have them) basis. Making a one-time statement at Christmas isn’t going to to do the little girl any good, especially if her brother gets his due as ‘prince’.

I remember when they pulled the Field Phones out of the interrogation centers when I was in Viet Nam. From what I understand they were effective, good for gooks not errant Granddaughters.

Do yourself and the child a favor and hire someone to watch her who likes children. I have grandkids and I’m sickened by your feelings toward the child.

Your little granddaughter’s “normal trends of feminine looks” makes her look like she’s going to be a slut? Does your son, her father, perceive this child in the same way you do?
