With Castle's Dream Act vote, Christine O'Donnell was totally vindicated.

Christine O'Donnell is a hero to all for taking out Mike Castle. His "Dream Act" vote cemented that. His yes vote in the house would have been at much more strength, as he could have easily voted for cloture, giving the horrendous act of amnesty bipartition cover. Primaries for RINOs is the only way to save our republic, and my this Castle vote be the first topic Hannity of the other talking heads bring up to Tokyo Rove.

And yet, she would vote better for this country than Mike Castle.

To dream the impossible dream?
To reach the unreachable star?
Or as Quixote once said to Panza, "Hey, Sancho, why are we fencing with all these windmills?"

Gotta disagree most strongly. Anybody who conned so many people into giving her so much cash is anything but dumb. I think she’s brilliant. Follow the money!

How people can be so blind as to not see that is beyond me. If the GOP (and establishment types like Rove) had gotten behind her with the same fervor that they attacked her, she would have had a real chance of beating Coons.
How can people be so blind as to believe that Karl Rove has such a sway over the electorate he can sway 16% of the vote?
Nobody who loses by 16% when there's a massive wave in the other direction all around the country, massive contempt for the party of the ruling President, etc. "Had a chance."

Slamming a candidate like ODonnell in a state like DE is foolish to say the least. If you think any truly conservative candidate in that state could have won you are deluding yourself. The very fact that she defeated Castle is astounding. She would have won handily in a red state. The message sent defeating Castle was truly a win and warning to other RINOs.

It already has bipartisan support, Coons will vote for it anyway, and if Castle had won he would NOT have been in the house to vote for it, although it wouldn’t have mattered.
So it’s entirely meaningless.
Of course, so is the idea that a primary challenger would be judged ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ based on how the winner votes. The challenger has ever right to challenge for a seat, and if they win, it’s the VOTERS that do so, and the VOTERS that are then proven “right” or “wrong”.
She would not be “wrong” even if he voted exactly as we wanted him to. It would be the people who voted her that would be judged.

Denigrating, piling on with the MSM, and hyper-criticism of Conservatives is typical behavior by Rino voters...which is why the men and women Rinos they elect are so dangerous.
Their priorities for candidates and officeholders often have little to do with principles or issues, they vote mostly on atmospherics.
Democrat voters do the opposite.
Which is why they own DC, the MSM, Hollywood, the Judiciary, and Academia.

However, Castle was seen as such an overwhelming candidate that Biden's son didn't want to run against him. So I'm not sure if a 'better' candidate would have come forward in this scenario. Now, RINO incumbents will be seen as beatable, and you will see better candidates step forward in 2012 for the primaries as a result.
You have to look at the entire picture here. Political change is seldom a linear process, but a series of wins and losses that over the long run adds up to real progress.

I'm with you on this one. I'm not trying to step on anyone’s toes or anything but she absolutely had too much baggage. How can a candidate with that much baggage not be considered weak?

How can a candidate who outspent her opponent 2:1 and lost by 16% not be considered a weak candidate?
That is the definition of a weak candidacy, that even a 2:1 spending margin cannot get you even close to within 10%.
If your advertisement budget is twice your nearest competitor, but no matter how much you spend you cannot seem to eat into your competitor’s market share..... you have a product that no amount of advertising is going to make palatable to the consumer.

She WAS a weak candidate. Anybody who outspends their opponent 2:1 and doesnt get within 10% in the votes is the DEFINITION of a poor candidate
WRONG. The last GOP candidate for US Senate, Jan Ting, lost 29% to 70%.
Not in a State where Democrat voter registration exceeds Republicans by 110,000 voters, and with the Republican insiders viciously attacking their own candidate.
See: www.FireTomRoss.com
The GOP establishment actively campaigned to destroy Christine O'Donnell, including after the primary. Both parties campaigned against her.

COD has lost three senate seat elections in five years in DE.
You are ignornat about Delaware, buddy. Christine made a token primary contest in 2006, but ran for real only in 2008 -- AGAINST JOE BIDEN.
Democrat registred voters outnumber Republicans by 110,000 in a very small State.
Christine's prior race was against JOE BIDEN, a Presidential candidate and a member of Congres for decades. Not beating Joe Biden is hardly a serious concern or test of CHristine O'Donnell as a candidate.

There isn't anybody else. In 2008, nobody else was willing to take a run at Joe Biden. There isn't anybody in Delaware who has a chance other than Christine O'Donnell.
