I am still all fired up after watching that thrilling Steelers win against the Ravens. Troy, Woodley, Harrison, Farrior, etc. all came up big. But was there a gutsier, more warrior like player tonight than Ben Roethlisberger? His performance tonight should go down as one for the ages.
I know Jack Lambert said that QBs should wear dresses. For the most part you have to agree with him. Yeah, you get a Michael Vick who has the wheels to run, you get a Brett Favre who will stand in there and take a hit to deliver the throw, but who puts his team on his back and does what Ben did tonight?
Playing with a possible broken foot, wearing a cleat one-and-a-half sizes to big, fitted with steel plates, suffering a broken nose on the first series (forget the blood, imagine the pain) and wearing Terrel Suggs on his back like a mink stole all night, Ben led his team to a win. ~snip~
QBs are not supposed to be that tough. Ben does not get the credit as one of the top players at his position. Yeah Brady and Peyton and Brees, I know all about them. Could you see any of those guys doing what Ben did tonight? No way, no how!
Amen to that! Oops, sorry, I didn't mean to use a term commonly reserved for biblical referencs.
Raping inebriated females in tavern bathrooms is not my idea of being a warrior.
Don’t recall the word “rape” ever used in that matter!
I agree. I was just thinking the same thing. I hate when coaches start all that “its war”crap.
WOW!!!
What Doc, no coffee yet this morning?
It's easy to see your not a stillers fan, but you are as vicious as a liberal from the DU this mornning.
Put some red wine in a cup of black coffee and chill out.
Sorry, I meant the dude that wrote the article..
Old Number 22 in the Silver and Blue was one of my heroes growing up in Detroit. My dad was a cop and once pulled Bobby Layne over for DWI, which was almost socially acceptable back in the day.
To the writer: get off your knees and wipe your mouth. The guy played with a broken nose...wow. As if that never happened before.
Especially when you run to the referee to complain about being hit in the face!
“...After all he has won 2 Super Bowls....”
That’s debateable. Remember earlier this year the ref in SB 40 admitted he made some calls that cost Seattle a chance to win that one. But Big Ben has the rings.
"Warrior-like."
Ravens fan here ... life long Baltimoron.
I’d like to have Palamalou (sp?) and Hines Ward on my team. Would have said the same thing about Ben a couple of years ago as well, but, as they say, character matters (especially to those of us dads with daughters in college).
Being a life long Steeler fan born and raised outside of the burg, some of these poster’s need to shut their computer’s off and go red-up their rooms and chill out.
That’s “redd-up” with two d’s.
If yinz had bin dahntahn, youdda seen it, n@.
Come home and visit some time.
