I am still all fired up after watching that thrilling Steelers win against the Ravens. Troy, Woodley, Harrison, Farrior, etc. all came up big. But was there a gutsier, more warrior like player tonight than Ben Roethlisberger? His performance tonight should go down as one for the ages.
I know Jack Lambert said that QBs should wear dresses. For the most part you have to agree with him. Yeah, you get a Michael Vick who has the wheels to run, you get a Brett Favre who will stand in there and take a hit to deliver the throw, but who puts his team on his back and does what Ben did tonight?
Playing with a possible broken foot, wearing a cleat one-and-a-half sizes to big, fitted with steel plates, suffering a broken nose on the first series (forget the blood, imagine the pain) and wearing Terrel Suggs on his back like a mink stole all night, Ben led his team to a win. ~snip~
QBs are not supposed to be that tough. Ben does not get the credit as one of the top players at his position. Yeah Brady and Peyton and Brees, I know all about them. Could you see any of those guys doing what Ben did tonight? No way, no how!

I have always thought that Ben was a better QB than many of the pundits give him credit for.
After all he has won 2 Super Bowls.
Don’t EVER equate a professional athlete with a warrior. These guys don’t have a clue as to what real war is like. It’s insulting to all those who ARE warriors.
The term was “warrior like”. There was no equivocation implied. In actuality the terminology warrior like to have the attributes of a warrior is complimentary to a warriors.
What is with people today? There seems to be pride taken in looking for something to be offended by and there bye allowing them to feel comfortable in over reacting.
Whats next I cannot believe they call that a blitz, my uncle lived through the London blitz and it was much worse than 300 pound guys running at you, just try to live with 500 pound bombs being dropped around you
These types are rants are getting tiresome.
You just don't find too many QBs of this caliber in the NFL.
That loser also admitted to only supporting big market teams because the smaller markets don’t draw enough fans or money. He’s an assclown.
Warriors? Seriously? It’s a game, played by grown boys fawned over by grown children.
OMG! This is the biggest geek steaming pile of crap ever to be posted here. I guess the twink never heard of Y.A. Title or saw Title’s face!! This is the kinda of moron who paints his face, wears a mask and wig and is drunk 12 hours before game time! This guy wouldn’t know the NFL from the LPGA! BFD! He got hit in the face! What a baby! The jerk is 6’5” and weighs 240! Pathetic!
Not to mention Otto Graham. Injuries to his face led to the league adoption of face masks. Of course old Otto just went in, had his face stitched back together then came back and finished the game.
My favorite was Bobby Layne. None better. He was the last QB not to wear a faceguard.
It has been said by his contemporaries that Bobby Lane never lost a game...he just ran out of time!
Looks like someone has a man crush. LOL!
Of all time? Perhaps, and Roethlisberger would likely make the top 5 of any such list, especially when looking at the modern era.
But I remember other gritty performances, such as Bernie Kosar in a Monday night game (probably 1992, based on where I was living at the time) where he played the entire 4th quarter of a thriller with a broken leg.
Well, I thought it would spark some interesting discussion. And so far it has, imho. (plus I’m a diehard Steeler fan, if you hadn’t guessed)
Is that supposed to be Ray Lewis?
Yeah, he was disappointed that Big Ben was a clock in London.
