I was in Catholic grade school in the mid 70’s. I can remember because Sister Paula did NOT find the song amusing and scolded the entire sixth grade. We then sung it very quietly during outside recess. Just a thought.

Lol, Dude....fun memories. My Dad, three brothers and I would watch Batman together every week. Afterward we'd play "No-Peeky Poker". It was the late 60's, and I of course learned the song from my ever so worldly big brother.

He was a treasure trove of playground hits including the "Comet" song and the ever popular "Glory Glory Hallelujia...Teacher Hit Me With s Ruler"

I first heard it just before Christmas 1966 in the school yard of Washington School in West Haven, Connecticut.

Simpsons 1989

Thought it was the most brilliant thing my 11-year-old ears had ever heard.

I was born in '47 and remember it, but I couldn't tell you what year exactly. I believe it was when I was a kid in the 50's or a teen in the 60's.

Does anyone remember this jingle that I definitely recall from my childhood years:

"Whistle while you work, Hitler is a jerk. Mussolini cut his weenie, now it doesn't work."

Not being a Simpsons fan, my generation's version was,

Jingle Bells, Shotgun Shells,
Shooting all away;
Oh what fun, it is to ride,
In Grandma's Chevrolet, hey.

Or something like that...

Then there is Cris Mattnew's verson...

Tingle Legs

I’d still like to solve the mystery of why I can instantly recall those grade-school jingles but I can’t remember where I put my @#$%^&* car keys an hour ago.
