I just had to put my plants up last week, and it’s really a chore as I’m sure you know! We’ve had days where it dropped 40 degrees by early morning.

Hi Potlatch.
I’ve been busy and have neglected my pings these past two days. I prefer dogs to cats but cats are fun for Saturdays. My son’s cat is a real character. When she comes to visit, she has the run of the house. She really entertains us. Whatever you are doing, she insists on being in the middle of it.
Hope you had a beautiful day.

Preparation And Expectation
December 5, 2010
When our children were young, we observed Advent (the time beginning on the fourth Sunday before Christmas through Christmas Eve) by making a wreath and lighting candles each night after supper. We sang a carol and read a short Bible passage about the birth of Christ. This was a special time of preparing our hearts to celebrate Christmas.
But Advent is more than that. When Christians first started practicing it in the fourth century, they viewed it not only as preparation for celebrating Jesus birth but also as a time of looking forward to His second coming. They found hope and cheer in the sure promise of His return.
The gospel of Luke describes the glory of the Lord that shone around the shepherds when the angel announced the Saviors birth (2:9). Luke also records Jesus promise that He will return with power and great glory (21:27). These two events frame the purpose for which the Son of God came into the world.
In Latin advent means a coming. The weeks before Christmas can be a wonderful season of repentance and expectation as we celebrate our Lords first advent in Bethlehem and anticipate His second advent when He returns in glory. Christ has come! Christ is coming again!
The first time Jesus came to earth,
Humble was His story;
But He has promised to return
With power and great glory. Sper
An angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them.
Luke 2:9

~Welcome To Sunday At Amy's Place~
Our Father, we long for the simple beauty of Christmas~ for all the old familiar melodies, words, and symbols that remind us of that great miracle when He who had made all things came one night as a babe, to lie in the crook of a womans arm.
But in that longing, let us even more yearn for your renewed presence among us even as we celebrate and expect the Coming of your Son.....
May the loving kindness of this Advent Season and the true Spirit of Christmas not only creep into our hearts this season, but there abide, so that not even the return to earthly cares and responsibilities, not all the festivities of our own devising may cause it to creep away weeping.
May the joy and spirit of Christmas remain with us now and forever. In the name of Jesus, who came to save His people from their sins, even in that lovely name we pray. Amen.

Jesus, the Lamb, will not turn the other cheek forever and "the great day of his wrath" is closer today than it was yesterday. So true and a very sobering thought.
We hear of God's mighty love, and so we should, but there will come a day when God's wrath will be poured out on those who reject His truth and forgiveness.
Prayers today that hearts will be softened to God's truth..

Just sorta worn out! Too much to do....too little time, know what I mean? I should have said more but had just gotten home from getting groceries and its been so cold....guess that face on your kitty spoke to me....LOL! We may get a big snow tonight! OH Jaycee!!! Hugs!!!! I DO know about that " too much to do with too little time"!
We are supposed to leave two weeks from today to go to Oregon for Christmas. My head is spinning. It would be easy if it were just Mr. Wog and myself, but with four of us going... zowie!! Almost not worth the effort! Well enough complaining!! Off to get ready for church. Polly
